'Anyone else disappointed that nap breaks aren’t considered a “reasonable adjustment”?' 💤🛏️ This was a comment we got on the video below when we posted it on social media! Did you know once you have informed your employer in writing that you are pregnant they must carry out an individual risk assessment? 🤰✍️ If there are any risks, they have to make reasonable adjustments to remove them. We asked the Nugget Savings community what reasonable adjustments had been made for them during their pregnancy. We got hundreds of responses, but here are some of our favourite ones: 🚗 Ensuring a space in the car park close to the office ⬇️ Reduced their hours to 30 hours per week when they had morning sickness but kept full-time pay 🏡 Whilst working from home they started calls at 5 mins past the hour and ending 5 mins to the hour to give them a 10 min break between meetings. 🏠 Bought a sit/stand desk for working from home 👟 Allowed to wear trainers 🍏 Teachers being taken off break duty 🐶 Ensuring the office dogs were kept with owners so they wouldn’t trip What reasonable adjustments were made whilst you were pregnant? ❓

📣 Companies new mums want to shout about! 📣 We asked our community to share any positive experiences they have had on their maternity leave. 🤰 So welcome to our new series, where every week we'll highlight 5 companies doing it right 💪🌟 Two takeaways we want to share from this survey: 💸 Enhanced policies are mentioned, but the things employees really valued? Being seen, heard, included and promoted. Mostly FREE things companies can do to improve employee well being 🗣 When you've provided a great employee experience, they want to share. Free PR? Employee advocacy? ✅

BUDGET DAY 💰🤑 Key 🔑 points for families: - Increase in the threshold for child benefit - Those facing high-income benefit charge ⬆️ from 50k to 60K - You lose child benefit totally at 80k - Extension of household support fund 🏠 for those struggling with the cost of living 🚨 Hunt also guaranteed rates for childcare providers to deliver the new funded hours… but didn’t say what the rates were so hard to ascertain if they’ll be enough at the stage. What do you think?

We need to STOP 🛑 putting the WHOLE cost of childcare 💸 against women's wages. It's my #1 bugbear. 😤 I know there are reasons for doing it: 💸 It demonstrates the wild cost of childcare 💸 Usually it is the woman returning to work so it *feels* like the childcare is to support this action However, to quote Caitlin Moran: “I have a rule of thumb that allows me to judge... whether or not some sexist bullshit is afoot. Obviously, it’s not 100% infallible but by and large it definitely points you in the right direction and it's asking this question; are the men doing it?" Are we putting the whole cost of childcare against men's wages? 🧐 ....and no we're not. Not as far as I can see. And it devalues women's work. 👎 It makes women feel like 'what's the point' 🤷♀️ if suddenly they are bringing home a small positive contribution, or in some cases, working is leaving them in the negative. If you split the childcare cost between two of you (which I PRAY 🙏 is what is happening in reality) - does your work have monetary value again? 💸 And if still the answer is no, have you considered the value of... ✨ Contributing to your pension ✨ Remaining on/climbing the career ladder ✨ Pursuit of your dreams and ambitions So... is it time to change the way we speak about the cost of childcare?
