We've teamed up with the Forestry Commission to visualise the importance of forest resilience. 🌳 Our project 'Resilience' uses bespoke landscape models to illustrate the risks associated with poor tree species diversification. The visuals show how this can lead to vulnerable landscapes, susceptible to wind blow and disease. We've created striking visuals to demonstrate the positive impact of forest management. By transitioning to a diverse range of tree species, we can achieve a resilient landscape with increased biodiversity. 🌱 Our detailed 3D base model, created as part of this project, will pave the way for future landscape iterations and help inform sustainable forest management practices. #landscape #forestry #resilience #3Dmodelling #biodiversity

Cast your vote 👉 https://ow.ly/VuSi50SzsA1 Stanmer Park, a 485-hectare Grade II Listed Park, is a beloved community space, a vital green lung on the edge of Brighton, and a gateway to the South Downs. Our project focused on restoring 20 hectares of the park's historic core, breathing new life into its landscape, buildings, and gardens. Key elements of the restoration include: ✔ Revitalised walled garden: Now a thriving hub with a café, farm shop, and educational facilities managed by Plumpton College as One Garden Brighton. ✔ Improved access: Restored Lower Lodges entrance, new car parks, and a recreated Green Drive offer better access for all visitors. ✔ Enhanced visitor experience: New trails, signage, and interpretation tell the park's rich history and ecology. Our landscape-led approach prioritised sustainability, preserving the park's 18th-century design intent, enhancing ecological value, and promoting biodiversity. We also worked closely with the local community throughout the project, ensuring their needs and aspirations were reflected in the design and execution. Vote for Stanmer Park 🙌🤞 We're immensely proud of the Stanmer Park restoration project and the positive impact it has had on the community and environment. The Albert Memorial in Saltburn Valley Gardens has been highly commended in the Regeneration and Retrofit category at the Construction Excellence Yorkshire and Humber (CEYH) Awards 2024. 🎉 Beaumont-Brown Architects and Pinnacle Conservation Ltd spearheaded the #restoration and #conservation efforts, in collaboration with Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, Saltburn Valleys CIO, and Mason Clark. The project, supported by the Tees Valley Combined Authority, safeguards the future of this Grade II listed structure. 🏛️ Originally constructed in 1856, the building initially served as the entrance portico to the first Barnard Castle railway station. It was relocated to its current site when the station closed in 1867, and christened the Albert Memorial in commemoration of Queen Victoria’s beloved husband who died that same year. It now stands as a prominent feature of Saltburn Valley Gardens. The memorial's relocation was overseen by railway magnate Henry Pease, who ordered its dismantling and reassembly as a centrepiece of his newly developed pleasure gardens. Previously on the Heritage at Risk Register, this grade II listed structure has undergone extensive restoration, made possible by funding from the Tees Valley Combined Authority. While LUC's involvement in the Albert Memorial's restoration was indirect, through our contribution to the Saltburn Valley Gardens NHLF bid, we were delighted to attend the awards ceremony in Leeds last week to celebrate the achievement of the project team. A huge well done to everyone involved. 👏 The memorial now stands fully restored, offering fabulous views of the valley and coastline beyond, a testament to collaborative efforts in #heritagepreservation and #communitystewardship. LUC is delighted to see yesterday’s swift removal by the government of the planning restrictions on onshore wind and their commitment to doubling onshore wind energy by 2030. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eCbBxqJy   Onshore wind in England will again and rightfully be treated the same way as other infrastructure projects.   Since the 2015 ban, LUC has continued to support our clients on wind energy projects in Scotland and Wales and we are more than ready to again help both old and new clients bring forward sensitively designed wind farms. See LUC's wind farm involvement: https://lnkd.in/eWAc44ih   In recent months, as a result of our clients anticipating a change of government and ensuing change of policy, we have been carrying out onshore wind site finding and site feasibility, bringing together expertise from LUC’s Environmental Impact Assessment, project management, landscape and visual, historic environment, ecology, ornithology, arboriculture and transport teams and trusted sub-consultants.      We are also very pleased to see the commitment to publish an update to the Community Benefits Protocol for Onshore Wind in England, which we see as bringing a wide benefit to host communities. #WindFarm #WindEnergy #Renewables #EIA #OnshoreWind
