Investing in monitoring equipment is crucial, but let's not overlook the critical importance of installation. Before a monitor can add any value to the LV network, it must be installed correctly and safely. With hundreds of thousands of monitors planned for deployment in the next 5-10 years, how do operators plan on ensuring installation is carried out correctly alongside a vast number of daily network management tasks and urgent responses to faults? In the current labour market, there are real challenges in resourcing installation teams, resulting in high quantities of monitors being left on shelves, rather than creating value on the network. Lifting the moratorium on onshore wind in England has the potential to boost energy security, reduce electricity bills, and accelerate the path to net-zero. Onshore wind is cost-effective, with projected economic benefits of £45 billion and 27,000 new jobs by 2030. Streamlined approval processes will enable faster development of renewable infrastructure, cutting carbon emissions more efficiently. This shift supports both environmental goals and economic growth, providing a sustainable and affordable energy future for the UK.    We are supporting the renewables sector with our #TOTUS total transformer monitoring solution and predictive maintenance services protecting windfarms from costly failures and reducing operational costs.    To find out more visit our renewables page: https://lnkd.in/eKzzXuM5 #RenewableUK #Onshore #WindEnergy #NetZero

Currently being deployed in its thousands across the UK electricity network, PRESense is enabling the proactive management of LV networks. As well as delivering on the long-term benefits for load management and asset health, #PRESense predicts the time, type and location of faults before they occur, and customers are impacted. This allows for the prioritisation of repair activities or the deployment of fault management devices. Working directly underneath overhead powerlines is a daily occurrence in the farming industry. With farm machinery getting bigger, the gap between these powerful lines and the highest point of machinery is shrinking, leading to an increased risk of accidents. Every year, thousands of incidents occur, with some tragically resulting in serious, life-changing injuries. Adverse weather conditions such as storms heightens the health & safety risks for those in the farming community and the wider public with the increased possibility of downed lines. The NFU (National Farmers' Union) have published this helpful article which outlines how problems can be prevented and what to do in the event of an emergency.  https://lnkd.in/enm-7dej #HighVoltage #StaySafe #AgricultureSafety

Network operators across the UK are now making substantial investments in monitoring equipment. The discussion has largely focused on the technology deployed within the monitor, but an important point is often overlooked - before a monitor can add any value at all, it has to be installed. Hundreds of thousands of monitors are planned to be deployed over the next five to ten years, this poses an important question - how do operators’ resource this as well as daily network management tasks and urgent responses to faults? Read our blog to find out how we are helping UK DNOs overcome the installation challenge and recommended practices for installations of monitors; https://lnkd.in/eKX6hWXK #LVMonitoring #Installation #Infrastructure #UKNetworks #Efficiency #FuturePlanning
