Executive Vice President @DNV Energy Systems at DNV | Driving Renewable Energy Transition and transforming the future of clean energy I CEO at @GreenPowerMonitor
👉Driving Innovation in Renewable Energy: Introducing Enhanced Predictive Maintenance Analytics at GreenPowerMonitor, a DNV company.👈 I am delighted to announce some exciting advancements concerning our Predictive Maintenance Analytics (PMA) system here at #GreenPowerMonitor.🙌 As we witness a monumental shift towards sustainability in the energy sector, the importance of #renewableenergy assets in the global energy landscape has become increasingly evident. However, navigating this transition presents unique challenges, particularly in asset management, performance monitoring, and maintenance. At GPM, we take pride in leading this transformative journey. Through our collaboration with Arowya (BKW Energie AG), we are spearheading the integration of advanced Predictive Maintenance Analytics (PMA) into energy asset management practices. This collaboration seamlessly blends #artificialintelligence precision with human insights, revolutionizing renewable energy asset management. 👉Our PMA system marks a significant milestone in our efforts to enhance the reliability and efficiency of #renewable assets. By harnessing artificial intelligence (AI), we can proactively identify potential issues and optimize maintenance processes, ultimately extending the lifespan of these assets and reducing operational expenses. 👉During our presentation at WindEurope 2024, we discussed real-life scenarios illustrating the capabilities of our anomaly detection system. One such scenario involved the detection of an unusual increase in generator stator and bearing temperatures, which initiated a sequence of analyses and responses, highlighting the effectiveness of our PMA system. ✔The good news is our flagship product, #GPMHorizon, already features a Predictive module with extensive capabilities, and we're excited to share that our array of predictive features is expanding with each passing quarter. Read the full article to learn more about our transformative approach to Predictive Maintenance Analytics (PMA) 👉 https://lnkd.in/dGMQvJFS I am immensely proud of the progress we have achieved thus far and eagerly anticipate the continued success and impact of our Predictive Maintenance Analytics (PMA) system. A big thank you to the exceptional GreenPowerMonitor, a DNV company team and to each member for your unwavering dedication and contributions to driving innovation and #sustainability in energy management. #predictiveanalytics #energytransition Alexey Bakulin Sucharita Banerjee Dirk Oehlmann Polina Ananevskaia Daniel Torres Pau Puigdollers Laura Casla Zarraga

Sonnedix has acquired a 42 MW ground mounted solar PV plant in Spain from Impax Asset Management. “The completion of this acquisition is another important step in our journey to reaching 1 GW of operating capacity in Spain by the end of this year,” said Axel Thiemann, CEO of Sonnedix. “Already in 2024, we have inaugurated our largest portfolio of solar plants in Spain to date, while continuing to drive forwards our conversion and hybridisation strategy to meet the country’s growing demand for clean, secure and flexible energy. As one of Sonnedix’s first ever markets, we’re incredibly proud to be one of the largest solar PV players in the region and to be playing an integral role in Spain’s energy transition.” In addition to its operational portfolio, Sonnedix has 300 MW of projects under construction in Spain and a further development pipeline totalling 300 MW. The new solar project is located in Carpio del Tajo, Toledo, Castilla-La Mancha, and came online in October 2023. Sonnedix’s latest acquisition marks the second in a 78 MW portfolio acquired from Impax Asset Management in April 2022, which also includes a fully operational 36 MW solar PV plant located in Herencia, Ciudad Real. Carsten Johansen, Head of the PE/Infrastructure Transaction Team at Impax Asset Management, added: “We are pleased to announce the conclusion of our construction programme in Spain where we have recently brought the 42 MW Portachuelo solar PV plant into operation. “This transaction also concludes our exit programme in Spain through our third fund where we have sold a combined 118 MW of solar PV projects.” Sonnedix was advised on this transaction by Ashurst (legal) and Gadvisory (technical), while Impax Asset Management was advised by Gómez-Acebo & Pombo. #cleanenergy

The candi solar asset management team is responsible for optimizing the performance of its solar assets, which range in capacity from 20 kWp to up to 4 MWp. In addition to achieving budgeted revenue targets, the team’s secondary goal is to optimize costs through investment in technology and innovation. Previously, candi relied solely on on-site pyranometers to measure the solar resource for its operational projects. However, these ground-based measurements can be susceptible to inaccuracies. candi recognized considerable deviations between the measured solar resource data at their 200kWp to 1MW operational projects and their budgeted resource data, which is a key component of their budgeted production and revenues. This led to two key issues: 👉 Uncertainty around the accuracy of on-site sensors 👉 Concerns surrounding how the operation of those sensors might affect the reliability of production and revenue calculations As Gianni Ruch, Head of Asset Management at candi solar, said, "We were struggling to meet the operational requirements of our project portfolio due to accuracy issues with our sensors." candi decided to validate their sensors with high-quality satellite data and turned to Solargis to meet this requirement. Solargis Monitor provided them with comprehensive high-frequency solar resource data. This enables the team to benchmark measurements from their on-site sensors against reliable satellite readings, revealing deviations between sensor readings and actual project performance. In an op-ed for Utility Dive, Brian Berry, the Chief Product Officer at Ampacimon, describes how utilities can monitor the health of grid assets with Dynamic Line Ratings: “Sensors collect real-time data that reveals trouble spots with actionable analytics. These analytics enable asset managers to prioritize maintenance based on actual conditions rather than time-based maintenance schedules.” Utility asset managers must adapt as the resource mix changes to include more #renewables and electricity demand increases. Between 2000 and 2019, for instance, operations and maintenance costs for transmission and distribution increased by 64%. https://lnkd.in/gvcWFq3f
