Throwback to our most recent HerStory event where we discussed and addressed blockers that you could be facing when it comes to organically attracting and retaining diverse talent 🤍 A HUGE thank you to everyone who came along for the night – my favourite part of these events are always getting to meet and speak with super talented people, and are always forthcoming about their unique and individual experiences & thank you to our brilliant facilitator Annjana R., who not only has a wealth of experience and knowledge on the above, but also possesses a natural warmth which helped foster a safe space for the evening A massive shout out to 1ovmany | B Corp™ who allowed us to share their space (& what a stunning space it was 🤩), and Sabrina Johnson from Ascent who collaborated with us for the evening Finally, THANK YOU to Moblessing Mudzamiri and Meera Narendra, who are both legends in their own rights, for all the support and work they put in to help organise this event. I shudder to think what it would have looked like without their support and knowledge 🫶 Follow our page to keep posted with upcoming events, and hopefully see you at the next one! #HerStory

Hey everyone – appreciate it’s been a little quiet but we’ve been working hard in the background and are very excited to announce... that we have our next HerStory event happening next week! 🥳💖 Introducing: “The Sticky Side of Retention”. This is going to be a roundtable event facilitated by Annjana R. and hosted by 1ovmany | B Corp™. We’ll be exploring blockers that you could be facing when it comes to attracting and retaining diverse talent organically, & exploring ways to overcome these. True to our previous events, we’re looking to keep the space small and intimate, so if it’s something that you would like to get involved with, then reach out to myself, Anastasia Thomas, and I can have you added to our guest list. Location: London Date: 23rd May Time: 5.30 – 9:00pm Hopefully see some of you there 🫶

Some great advice from Em Bayley-Melendez. It can be super intimidating going to your first tech event, but for networking and learning purposes, it’s so worth it! 💖

Raise your hand if you’ve ever felt awkward at a networking event 🙋🏽♀️ I used to struggle so much sometimes I still do - it’s not like I feel awkward as a person but more so that it feels hard to strike a convo on a whim. If you’ve ever felt the same you’re not alone and kudos for putting yourself out there at events and building connections. Here are some tips for how to make the process easier. Key takeaways: 1. Action plan it - what’s the goal? Set yourself a little action plan for what you’re wanting to take away it could be to have 3 connections on LinkedIn and set up 1 coffee date. It could be to network with a key stakeholder for your industry and try and get them to arrange a call about your product. Having a plan can keep you accountable and make you more confident because you know what your aim is. 2. We’re all human - instead of the usual “hey I’m X and I do Y what do you do?” Ask an intro question that allows you to get to know the persons interests more. Who knows you might share a hobby which can help to deepen a connection. 3. The art of the entry - if you’re not sure how to start joining groups of 3+ people can be helpful because you can chime into a conversation. It also allows you to leave the chat if you’re not quite vibing which I’ve found to be super helpful. Above all quality >>> quantity. Better to have fewer more meaningful connections than get lots of names but actually not be able to recall anything about them. What would you add to the this? Happy Monday everyone! Anastasia here – personally feeling super fresh going into this week as I spent a wholesome weekend mooching around East London with some friends. This included walks by the canal and having lunch at My Neighbours the Dumplings 🥟 by Viccy Park, which I would highly recommend if you’re looking for somewhere affordable and flipping delicious!! And to top it all off, it finally feels like we’ve almost left Winter behind which I have been DESPERATE for 😅 How’s everyone else feeling!? Also just wanted to pop on here to share that we have a very exciting announcement to make tomorrow. Keep your eyes peeled as we have been working hard in the background to bring something very very special for all of you! I’ll share a little hint in the form of emoji’s (...quite on brand for me 😉): 🎙🎤👩💻🍕🥂🗣 #HerStory
