This morning, we announced our new partnership between German Accelerator and London & Partners, at Fotografiska Museum in Berlin 🙌 Welcomed by Miriam Ducke and Matthias Notz, we held a panel with German Accelerator, Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and London & Partners on the new partnership, before networking over breakfast. The morning was spent celebrating the partnership and discussion on our key objectives of: 🌟 Helping German startups and enterprises scale internationally 🌟 Facilitating access to London's dynamic business environment 🌟 Providing invaluable resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities. Germany is one of the largest European source markets for London & Partners, with German projects generating millions for London’s economy, mostly from tech, financial and business services. Oh Canada! ✨ Yesterday, Grow London Global popped across London to visit our friends at Canada House for a Meet the Market session with the High Commission of Canada in the United Kingdom | Haut–commissariat du Canada au Royaume–Uni. 🥗 Over lunch, we introduced our London companies to key stakeholders in Canada and the provinces, including Government of Saskatchewan Trade & Investment Office’s Ranissah S., Ontario Government | Gouvernement de l’Ontario Trade & Investment Office’s Latham French and Investissement Québec’s Tamara Mehdi. We talked strategies for market entry, partnership-building, cultural nuances and also the support available for London companies looking to enter the Canadian market 🚀 Many notes were taken over a fantastic market overview from the wonderful Nadine Storey, Geoffrey Cooper & Leslie Venon. The results are in! #London has been named the leading European region for investment, with a recorded 359 Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) projects in 2023 and particular investment growth seen in the technology and financial services 👑 This was cited in EY’s annual ranking of European countries by their ability to attract Foreign Direct Investment, in which the UK took second place with 985 FDI projects in 2023.
