The aim of Future Frontiers is to equip disadvantaged young people with the information, skills and mindsets to be able to realise their career aspirations and maintain the motivation to achieve their full potential. Future Frontiers is an award winning charity that provides one-to-one careers guidance for pupils from low income backgrounds. We train business professionals to deliver a programme of face-to-face coaching to children from schools in their community. To deliver this support, we partner with forward-thinking businesses. We work with businesses to deliver a high quality corporate volunteering scheme, that also helps employees stay engaged and develop new skills.

This week, I spoke at the Chartered Institute of Fundraising's 2024 Fundraising Convention. I took the chance to share the work we do at Future Frontiers and the brilliant programme I've delivered for the last 2.5 years. In these uncertain times, the needs of vulnerable young people in London don't disappear, they only tend to become obscured. I'm grateful for this opportunity to bring our important mission back to the fore - to promote social mobility through education for disadvantaged young people. This would not have been possible without our valued partner, Macmillan Cancer Support. Along with my colleague and friend Enrika Brigyte, we highlighted the success of our joint programmes beginning two years ago. I hope to continue to work with you further into the future! The opening speech from Fatima Whitbread was the perfect beginning to a powerful day. It was also another powerful reminder of the limitless impact that supporting a young person can have on that person's life. As Fatima put so eloquently, 'they may not remember the words, but they will feel the emotions for years to come.' A big thank you to Jean-Gabriel Tarassenko for your support throughout the day! We had the first session of our Summer 2 programme with Marex this afternoon and it was a smashing hit! What better day to discover and discuss career values, interests, and skills than on #SocialMobilityDay! Our brilliant Transition Manager Selena Shepherd noted that the students at the end were also having a discussion about who had the best coach (this remained undecided, and we do encourage some healthy competition 🤝).
