We’ve only just finished delivering programmes for the summer, but the Future Frontiers team got together for our offsite last week! Hosted by AXIS (AXIS Capital), the two days were filled with sessions on team development and reconnecting with our mission ahead of the 2024/25 academic year. On Day 1 our EDI Group held a session on “Being an Effective Ally: Recognising and Addressing Bias” which included activities and some discussions around dismantling inherent biases we all have. We also had an insightful session on “Giving and Receiving Feedback” led by Mark Goodchild from Goodmore Partners. It wouldn’t be a FF Offsite without a Strategy Refresher from Rebecca Scott, which is how we kicked off Day 2! Followed by a rundown of innovations to our programme coming in autumn, led by our very own careers education expert Miriam Keith. To wrap up, our team of Transition Managers reminded us of the many barriers facing our students, and how we tackle them through our programme. The highlight of the day was a Q&A session featuring CEOs present and future - Dominic Baker and Emma Bradley! Finally, a huge thank you to the team at Axis Capital who so graciously hosted us - thank you Pierre-Adrien Opinel (石頭) and Mandy May for organising everything so perfectly! A special shoutout to the amazing team in reception and facilities who looked after us in their beautiful office and made us feel so welcome! 💙 Roll on September 2024!

We're so proud of our superstar Senior Transition Manager Rodrigo Lourenco! Having such conversations is so important, now more than ever. #SocialMobility #MentoringMatters
This week, I spoke at the Chartered Institute of Fundraising's 2024 Fundraising Convention. I took the chance to share the work we do at Future Frontiers and the brilliant programme I've delivered for the last 2.5 years. In these uncertain times, the needs of vulnerable young people in London don't disappear, they only tend to become obscured. I'm grateful for this opportunity to bring our important mission back to the fore - to promote social mobility through education for disadvantaged young people. This would not have been possible without our valued partner, Macmillan Cancer Support. Along with my colleague and friend Enrika Brigyte, we highlighted the success of our joint programmes beginning two years ago. I hope to continue to work with you further into the future! The opening speech from Fatima Whitbread was the perfect beginning to a powerful day. It was also another powerful reminder of the limitless impact that supporting a young person can have on that person's life. As Fatima put so eloquently, 'they may not remember the words, but they will feel the emotions for years to come.' A big thank you to Jean-Gabriel Tarassenko for your support throughout the day! If you'd like to find out more about Future Frontiers' mission and how to get involved, please don't hesitate to send me a message!
