These schools are part of our ongoing commitment to providing education to children in underserved communities. But we’re not stopping there, we are set to build another school in Nepal in September. Your hard work, passion, and commitment have been instrumental in transforming these projects from vision to reality. Harish Gohil has been named Global Head of Insurance Ratings. With over 20 years’ experience at Fitch, Gohil builds on his extensive developed and emerging market insurance experience. He has been instrumental in building Fitch’s reputation and insurance franchise in Europe and more recently in the Middle East. Sabine Bauer has been appointed to succeed Gohil in his previous role as EMEA Head of Insurance Ratings, effective September 1. Since first joining Fitch in 2005, Bauer has held roles as Team Head for Bank ratings in several countries in APAC, Group Credit Officer for EMEA Financial Institutions, and most recently, as Criteria Officer in the Criteria Review Approval Group. Based in Stockholm, Bauer will report to Gohil. Congratulations to Harish and Sabine!

It was great to welcome back East London Business Alliance to our London Office. The team delivered a fantastic Career Insight Visit to Year 12 Students with the help of Fitch Volunteers.  The East London Business Alliance builds the connection between businesses and local communities, bringing the time, skills and resources of the private sector, to help build the capacity of local organisations, support young people in education and place people into employment in London. Thank you to our Fitch Volunteers for sharing their career journeys, answering questions and supporting students with an engaging credit card design activity. We hope this session informed students about a career in finance and showcased pathways into the industry. We are proud to once again support the Global Education Challenge in partnership with Social Shifters. This initiative aims to promote access to free, high-quality education through innovative ideas and solutions. Last year, over 460 applications were received from young people worldwide, proposing bold, innovative ideas to advance quality education in their communities. Participants gained free access to the Social Shifters' Digital Incubator program, with e-learning, exclusive events, and online coaching. Building schools in remote locations is an transformative endeavor that not only facilitates access to quality education but also fosters community growth and development. We are excited to share that our Fitch volunteers have recently returned from their Fitch School Build trip in Santa Maria Cahabon, Guatemala. Empowering communities through education, Fitch is committed to building three primary schools in 2024 in Senegal, Guatemala and Nepal, providing a foundation for lifelong learning and success. Together, with the local communities and in partnership with buildOn we're building more than schools; we're building opportunities for children to have a better future.
