🎉 Today marks the end of our birthday week – but it’s certainly not the end of our celebrations, stay tuned for more to come! In the meantime, let’s remember why we do what we do... Over the next ten years, our ambition is to enable the 2 million young people eligible for free school meals to have an employment and earnings potential that is equitable to other young people in the UK. Currently, where you start in life plays a huge role in where you end up. Young people who qualify for free school meals are three times more likely than their peers to be unemployed by the age of 27. This needs to change. 💪 You can help us create this change. If you want to play a part in transforming the lives of young people, visit our website to volunteer, fundraise, collaborate, and advocate for change: https://lnkd.in/etD2vFsB #DecadeOfImpact #GetInvolved #ThankYou

Really pleased to see the launch of Five Generations at Work: How we win together, for good, written by our previous Chair Patrick Dunne and previous Trustee Rebecca Robins CMgr CCMI.      Young people are at the core of what we do at EY Foundation, and our Youth Advisory Board (YAB) is a key mechanism by which we ensure we are listening to, responding to, and incorporating youth voice as we evolve, so we’re thrilled to see and hear from the YAB as part of a key case study in the book.     Patrick and Rebecca explore the work of our YAB, alongside the work of other organisations and individuals, and why it’s crucial to draw on voices across generations – especially those you’re seeking to represent – to the benefit of all. If you’re interested in intergenerational working and next-gen thinking you can find out more below.

💚 Welcome to the world... Five Generations at Work: How we win together, for good The definitive playbook for empowering intergenerational collaboration, innovation and productivity in business and society. Of the three books that I have written, THIS is the most important book yet. 1️⃣ For the first time in history, we have up to five generations at work. In the context of a world in flux and polycrisis, our diversity is a powerful force multiplier for good, if we debunk the stereotypes and know how to unlock it 2️⃣ It was written through the voices of five generations for every generation – for students, first career movers, founders, entrepreneurs, managers, leaders and board members  3️⃣ It open sources how to maximise the dynamics of our generational diversity, connecting cultural, collaborative, consumer and competitive advantage 4️⃣ It unpacks a global body of research and work across four continents with global corporates, family businesses, education and foundations, including: Ahlstrom I EY Foundation I Financial Times I Hoffmann-La Roche I Imaginable Futures I LVMH I Liberty Global I Mars I Mission 44 I The Oxford Character Project I St. Gallen Symposium I The UNDP and Samsung and more…! 5️⃣ Above all, this book is a call to action to us all. When humanity is being challenged by the forces upon us, from climate, to geopolitics, to technology, we need to draw on the strengths of every generation for sustainable and systemic change for good Collaboration and co-creation is one of the central messages of the book, and that holds true in co-authoring across generations, with the brilliant Patrick Dunne 💚 And it is now available for pre-order 💚💚💚💚 https://lnkd.in/e7PUcx7v A heartfelt thank you for the phenomenal response already this week to my first reveal and promise of a new book. It has meant so much 💚 It’s now very real and it's about the impact that we can all make in the everyday and in the extraordinary The great Toni Morrison, in her Nobel acceptance speech, talked about “meaning that secures our difference, our human difference.” Words matter, because they can make a difference. Please spread the word and let's make a human difference! https://lnkd.in/e7PUcx7v #fivegenerations #fivegenerationsatwork #brands #culture #collaboration #collaborativeleadership #innovation #entrepreneur #Intrapreneur #cocreation #culturechange #familybusiness #generations #Intergenerational #interdisciplinary #leadership #nextgen #sustainability #SDGs #transformation

At EY Foundation, we’ve been looking at how we can use digital solutions to enhance our employability skills training for young people from low-income backgrounds, whilst also considering what impact the advancement of technologies like VR and Gen AI will have on the future of work. Digital is key to how we’re going to realise our ambitions to support more young people across the UK, so we’re thrilled to be included in Charity Digital’s 2024 Charity Digital Skills Report, which highlights key insights for understanding the current digital landscape in the charity sector.  Have a read of the full case study, as told by our Digital Manager Freya Mumford, here: https://lnkd.in/d9ScizMA And download your copy of the report here: https://lnkd.in/eCxFY3HR #CharityDigiReport

👏 Congratulations and thank you to our fantastic Snowdon Night Hike participants: Kim Glover, Alex CY Lau Mahadhevan Subramanian, Harish Medhekar, Vinu Vasudevan, Luke Corbridge, Sandika Dhawan, Daria Vasyatkina, Marcelino Joshua C., Binka laytonJodie McNally and more! In the early hours of Saturday 13 July, our 13 hikers travelled from across England to climb 1,085m to reach the Snowdon peak, walking for 7 hours and 9 miles in total.  Their efforts have raised an amazing £2,506 and counting! Speaking on their experience of the hike, Sandika said... ‘I was very glad to have done it as it was quite the experience, especially watching the sunrise from 1085m, and a great way to meet people from across the firm and different offices. I’m grateful to the EY Foundation for organising this as it was on my bucket list. A huge thanks to all those who donated! I would especially like to thank my colleagues in TS&E who were particularly generous with their donations, which goes to show how much they believe in the work EY Foundation does.’ 👀 Fancy joining us for our next domestic hike in Spring 2025? We’ll be taking on Hadrian’s Wall! Drop us your email address to be added to our contact list when details are released: Fundraising@eyfoundation.ey.com   #Snowdon #Fundraising #Fundraiser

What do young people want the new UK government to deliver? We’ve seen plans laid out today during the King’s Speech, but do they align with what our Youth Advisory Board wants to see? Listen to John Walker, Natalie Stuart, and Ife Obasa as they call for what they want prioritised, including… ⭐Paid work experience ⭐Collaboration with employers ⭐AI literacy ⭐Raising aspirations #YouthVoice #Government

Today is both Youth Skills Day and the first day of Youth Employment Week! Let’s talk about the crucial role employers play in connecting young people with opportunities to discover careers, build skills, and succeed at work. 🤝 At the EY Foundation, we support young people who qualify for free school meals through employability skills training and paid work experience. Our programmes are designed and delivered in collaboration with employers, and beyond direct delivery we work with them to identify and create inclusive work environments where diverse young talent can thrive. Youth employment, accessible career paths, increasing retention, and building diverse teams relies on both sides of the labour market coming together; employers and young people are core to ensuring the future of work is equitable, sustainable, and considered. If you support young talent, you can get involved in Youth Employment Week by downloading Youth Employment UK’s toolkit for organisations: https://lnkd.in/e4HHPeUv Together, we can strive to do better and ensure that there is opportunity for all young people to thrive in the workplace. What actions are you taking towards this? #YouthEmploymentWeek #YouthSkillsDay #CreatingOpportunityForAll

👏 Congratulations to all the young people who have recently graduated from our June Your Future programmes! It’s been hugely rewarding to watch you develop over the last two weeks. Here are just some of the things you’ve been up to... - Attending virtual and in-person mock interviews conducted by civil service volunteers;  - A speed networking session where our young people heard from civil service employees about their career journeys with key advice and tips;  - An assessment centre activity where students acted as local government teams responding to natural disasters in commonwealth states, presenting where they’d focus their efforts and funding, and why;  - And a policy activity where participants had to argue the case for or against TikTok being accessible in the UK. Good luck to everyone who has applied for a job with one of our employer partners following your participation in the programmes! And a huge thank you to all our fantastic volunteers and partners who have helped them on their journey including Government Digital and Data, Government Digital Service, UK Home Office, The Crown Estate, People's Partnership and more. #YourFuture #YouthEmployment
