Axle Energy has been chosen as a Top 30 Software Innovator in Energize Capital's Electrify Everything 2024. There's no way to recover from climate change without electrifying everything: transport, heat, industry. This is an obvious revolution in hardware: wind turbines, solar cells, batteries. It's also a less-obvious revolution in software: Axle's platform keeps the grid humming along with all of those renewables, EVs, and batteries. Britain's new government wants to get the electricity sector to Net Zero by 2030. This is a fantastic target, but we won't hit it by simply churning out more renewable kWh. We are proud to announce our partnership with Puredrive Energy Ltd! Puredrive is a UK manufacturer of home battery systems. Through our partnership, Puredrive battery owners will be able to earn money using their batteries to support the grid. In periods of high strain on the electricity grid, Axle’s algorithms will automatically dispatch Puredrive home batteries - keeping coal off the grid and compensating users for the service. The process is fully automated, and accounts for users’ tariffs and individual energy needs. We’re thrilled to be working with Puredrive to decarbonise the grid - this is what the future energy system looks like, and we’re excited to be building it today.

The UK grid has come close to the brink a few times in recent weeks. Cold days and low wind have meant we’ve been reliant on fossil fuels and imported power to keep the lights on. 🚨 We’ve achieved a big milestone! 🚨 Axle is now connected to over 10,000 flexible devices (EVs and EV chargers, batteries, electric heaters). Together with our partners, we’re harnessing these devices to help decarbonise the grid, and rewarding households for their contribution. Today, the grid relies on fossil fuel power plants to push out enough energy to meet demand, every minute of the year. We’re replacing these power plants with the combined power of thousands of flexible devices. We’re adjusting energy use in real time, soaking up wind and solar when it’s available, and storing that energy for when it isn’t. Stay tuned - this is just the start! 💪

Pod Point is one of UK's leading providers of EV charging, with over 200,000 chargers sold. With Axle Energy’s support, Pod Point customers can use their chargers’ flexibility to help decarbonise the grid, earning rewards for shifting their charging to times of day with plenty of renewables. Pod Point has been leading the EV revolution since 2009, when Tesla launched their first car. They’ve helped transform EVs from a novelty to a no-brainer.
