Ranaghat (SC) election results 2024 live updates: BJP's Jagannath Sarkar wins

NEW DELHI: In the 2024 elections, the main contenders in Ranaghat are from the AITC and BJP. The AITC has nominated its seasoned politician Mukut Mani Adhikari, while the BJP has fielded its sitting MP Jagannath Sarkar once again.

The Ranaghat Lok Sabha constituency went to polls on May 13 during the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024, along with other constituencies in West Bengal.The polling percentage of 81.87 was amongst the highest in the country.

In the 2019 parliamentary elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Jagannath Sarkar secured a notable victory, amassing 7,83,253 votes (52.75%), while the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) candidate Rupali Biswas received 5,49,825 votes (37.03%). This result highlighted the BJP's growing influence in the region. The voter turnout of 84.21% was recorded in the last election.

In contrast, the 2014 elections saw AITC's Tapas Paul winning the seat, indicating the dynamic and competitive nature of Ranaghat's political landscape. Ranaghat continues to be a pivotal constituency in West Bengal's electoral dynamics.
The Ranaghat Lok Sabha constituency includes the assembly segments of Haringhata, Tehatta, Palashipara, Kaliganj, Nakashipara, Chapra, and Krishnaganj.
