Bajaj Auto has just revolutionized the commuter motorcycle industry with the launch of its much-anticipated CNG-powered motorcycle, the Freedom 125. Priced from Rs 95,000, ex-showroom, this model is the world’s first-ever CNG motorcycle. The bike will be offered in three variants namely, Drum, Drum LED, and Disc LED. It can be had in seven dual-colour options.

Bookings for the all-new Freedom 125 have commenced on the company’s website and across its dealership network with the deliveries set to begin in Maharashtra and Gujarat initially.

Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG motorcycle: Engine


Coming to the most important part of the motorcycle, the CNG+Petrol 125 cc, air-cooled engine will make 9.5 hp and 9.7 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. Further, it features a combination of a 2-litre CNG tank placed underneath the seat along with a 2-litre petrol tank, claimed to deliver an impressive 330 km of range in total. The motorcycle can run on either mode, petrol or CNG, which can be toggled easily by using a switch. Interestingly, the filler cap is shared for both fuels so it won’t be a troublesome task to refuel this vehicle.

As per the company, the bike can cover up to 102 km per kilogram of CNG. Running on CNG, it cuts daily costs by 50 percent and can save owners up to Rs 75,000 in fuel costs over five years compared to a 125 cc petrol motorcycle.

In terms of hardware and features, the motorcycle gets telescopic forks in the front and a monoshock unit for rear. The stopping power on the top-end variant comes from a disc brake in front and a drum brake on the rear wheel. It gets a negative LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity as well.

Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG motorcycle: Prices


Available in three variants, the prices for the Freedom 125 start from just Rs 95,000, ex-showroom. The mid and the top-end variant will, however, set you back by Rs 1.05 lakh and Rs 1.10 lakh, respectively. Both prices are ex-showroom.
