NEW DELHI: Tenkasi(SC) is one of the 39 parliamentary constituencies in Tamil Nadu and is reserved for SC candidates. It encompasses six legislative assemblies— Srivilliputhur (SC), Rajapalayam, Sankarankovil (SC), Vasudevanallur (SC), Kadayanallur, and Tenkasi.

Highlights of previous year Lok Sabha elections in the constituency:In the 2019 elections, Dhanush M Kumar, representing the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), emerged victorious with 4,76,156 votes. Dr. K. Krishnasamy of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) secured the runner-up position with 3,55,389 votes. The total voter turnout for this constituency in 2019 was 71.43%.
In the 2014 elections, M. Vasanthi of the AIADMK clinched victory with 4,24,586 votes. Dr K Krishnasamy, representing the Puthiya Tamilagam party, was the runner up with 2,62,812 votes. The total voter turnout for this constituency in 2014 was 73.76%.
Vote share of major political parties after the previous Lok Sabha elections:In the 2019 elections for the Tenkasi Lok Sabha constituency, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) candidate secured victory with 44.71% of the votes, while the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) candidate garnered 33.37% of the votes.
