NEW DELHI: The Ramanathapuram Lok Sabha constituency comprises six legislative assemblies: Aranthangi, Tiruvadanai, Ramanathapuram, Mudhukulathur, Tiruchuli, and Paramakudi(SC).

With over 16 lakh registered voters, Ramanathapuram went to polling in the first phase on April 19 and recorded a voter turnout of 68.19%, as per the ECI data.
IUML's Navasani K won with a vote margin of 1,66,782 against former CM and independent candidate Panneerselvam O S/O Ottakarathevar.

In the Ramanathapuram constituency of Tamil Nadu, a tough battle could be seen between three prominent parties: IUML, AIADMK and NDA supported independent candidate. From the INDIA bloc, IUML fielded K Navaskani, AIADMK fielded P Jeyaperumal and NDA supported ex-CM Panneerselvam O S/O Ottakarathevar, who fought as an independent candidate.

In the 2019 elections, Kani K Navas, representing the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), emerged victorious with 469,943 votes.

Nainar Nagendran of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured the runner-up position with 342,821 votes.
In the 2014 elections, AIADMK candidate A Anwhar Raajhaa clinched victory with 405,945 votes. DMK candidate S Mohamed Jaleel was the runner up with 286,681 votes.

In the 2019 general elections for the Ramanathapuram Lok Sabha constituency, the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) emerged victorious with 44.08% of the votes, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) obtained 32.16% of the votes.

In the 2014 general elections, the AIADMK led with 40.55% of the votes, followed by the DMK with 28.63% of the votes. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured 17.09% of the votes.
