NEW DELHI: The Sangrur Lok Sabha Constituency went to the polls in its seventh phase on June 1. The Sangrur constituency includes nine assembly segments: Lehragaga, Sunam, Bhadaur, Barnala, Mehal Kalan, Malerkotla, Dhuri, and Sangrur, and it is classified under the General category.
Geographically, it spans the entire Barnala district and a portion of the Sangrur district.
As per the 2011 census, the population of the Sangrur Municipal Council was 88,043, with a literacy rate of 60.5% in the Lok Sabha constituency.
