Student Research Spotlight: Emphasizing Similarities Between Politically Opposed Groups and Their Influence in Perceptions of the Political Opposition

In our latest Student Research Spotlight, we're sharing a new article in Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin. Co-authored by Past SPSP Student Committee Chair Stylianos Syropoulos, the research investigates whether emphasizing similarities between Republicans and Democrats can improve intergroup relations between the two groups.

Coming Soon: #SPSP2024 Registration + Housing Portal Opens on September 28

It's nearly time to register for the SPSP 2024 Annual Convention, which will be held from February 8-10, virtually and in San Diego, CA. Make sure register at our discounted Early Bird rate when the registration portal opens on September 28. This is also the date on which attendees can begin reserving hotels in SPSP's housing blocks.

Sign Up for September Free-Form Fridays and Submit Your Ideas

 

There is still time to sign up for September Free-Form Friday sessions! These small, virtual meeting rooms are an excellent opportunity to connect with your fellow SPSP members to discuss research, career development, and other areas of interest. This month's sessions include a discussion of new resources that help promote inclusive publishing and citing practices, as well as a meetup for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer (LGBTQ) students and early-career SPSP members.

 

We are also accepting submissions from SPSP members who would like to host Free-Form Friday sessions in the future. If there is a topic you would like to see covered during a future session, let us know by completing the form below!
