We are pleased to announce that Pelagus 3D has signed a partnership agreement with Immensa to advance the adoption of on-demand additive manufacturing (AM) in the maritime and energy sectors 🤝   The partnership will see Pelagus 3D and Immensa combine our respective strengths in additive manufacturing and digital inventory solutions to enhance service offerings and expand our market presence in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.   Through the partnership, both parties will (i) streamline supply chain processes (ii) expand OEM networks and (iii) deliver significant improvements in service provision to end users in the MENA region.   The partnership agreement was signed by Håkon Ellekjær, Chief Commercial Officer of Pelagus 3D, and Fahmi Al-Shawwa, Chief Executive Officer of Immensa, in Dubai at Immensa’s office.   Thank you to Neal de Roche, Hafiz Abdul-Wahab, CPA, Sary Diab, and Julian Callanan for witnessing the signing ceremony. Our recent project with Servogear AS highlights how additive manufacturing can solve one of the most important concerns in critical systems – part performance issues. Through understanding the pain points faced by our OEM partner, our team was able to fabricate a flange in aluminium alloy to solve the issue of overheating that connects the diesel engine and electric motor. The part was redesigned to include new features like passive cooling using topologically optimised fins that increased the surface area of the part and improved the cooling performance of the flange, which also resulted in a significant weight reduction of ~70% from 8kg to 2.1kg. This helps ensure uninterrupted operations and eliminates any downtime. For the past year, we have been running Project #BRAMOND – Brazil Manufacturing On-Demand, activating the necessary ecosystem to bring the service and benefits of AM to the region.   Phase 1 included a market study to understand the commercial and technical feasibility of establishing a local manufacturing centre with in-house and/or affiliated manufacturing partners, forming up an AM network in Brazil.   As we move to Phase 2, we are continuing our goal to promote and support Brazilian Oil & Gas and Maritime industries to adopt on-demand manufacturing while leveraging digital inventories and additive manufacturing technologies. We are excited to announce that Pelagus 3D and Doosan Enerbility are launching a joint industry programme in Korea called KOMANDO (Korea Manufacturing On Demand Operations). This initiative aims to connect equipment manufacturers and end users together, showcasing the value proposition and benefits of on-demand manufacturing ✨   Recently, we had the privilege of presenting at the “AM Application Workshop for the Development of the Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Industry” conference in Changwon.   The conference gathered industry experts across Korea to share the latest technology trends in the maritime sector, featuring companies such as Kangrim Heavy Industries Co. Ltd ( IG and Boiler ), Sungil Machinery Co., Ltd. SIM Korea, and DASCO.
