This morning, close to 5,000 participants joined us at the Income Eco Run (IER), where we pledged to donate $1 to the Singapore Environment Council (SEC) for every KM run! Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment, Amy Khor, graced the event as our Guest of Honour, leading the flag-off with our Chief Executive, Andrew Yeo spottingly ran 5KM for the cause. Collectively, participants clocked nearly 60,000 KM, and raised $60,000 for the Singapore Environment Council (SEC) in support of the Singapore Green Plan 2030. This was 50% more than last year! 🙌🏻 This year, IER pushed the boundaries even further for the zero waste cause in these unprecedented ways: - Running bibs were 65% smaller than the industry standard. - Participants of the Kids Category wore special bibs made of seed paper, which can be planted and grown into plants. - Hydration points used only plastic-free cups and are hence, 100% recyclable. - Food waste, e.g. banana peels, was composted where possible. - Carbon footprint of the event, including participants' commute and IER tees purchased will be offset. Heightening the inclusivity ante, we added a Kids category so that the young ones can join and get a head start on their journey towards sustainable living. Inspiring actions beyond the run, our green partners at the Income Eco Village raised public awareness for a range of topics, from the harms of fast fashion to meatless food options. We also had participants pledging to "Tread Lightly, Live Gently", facilitated by our green partner Tzuchi Foundation for more to commit to simple changes to their daily habits like taking public transportation, reducing disposables, and including more meatless options in their diet. A big shout out to all our partners and participants for making this year’s Income Eco Run a success! Here’s to building a more sustainable and resilient future for all. 💚 #IncomeInsurance #IncomeEcoRun #TowardsZeroWaste Singapore Environment Council (SEC), Tzuchi Foundation, Esprimo, Imagine+, National Trades Union Congress (NTUC), PAssionCard, Singapore Athletics, Ice Mountain, 100PLUS, Foopak, Running Department, Pressio, Share Transport, Anywheel, Sustainable Office Solutions (SOS), ALBA Group Asia, Allianz Global Investors
