Ahead of a presentation at the Bernstein 40th Annual Strategic Decisions Conference on May 31, Centene (NYSE:CNC) expects to reaffirm previously provided 2024 diluted EPS guidance of at least $6.80. Consensus is $6.85.
The managed health care provider also continues to see a 2024 health benefits ratio of 87.3% to 87.9%.
In its Bernstein appearance, Centene (CNC) said it will provide some intra-quarter insights. This includes higher than expected claims receipts during April for both Q1 and April dates of service in the Medicaid segment. Also, an early assessment of May claims receipts indicates medical costs are higher than expected.
However, the company said it anticipates continued strong performance in its state health insurance marketplace business.
