"Selvita Experts" series returns! This time, we're introducing the brilliant minds behind the antibody drug discovery at our new laboratory in Wroclaw. We would like to start with Marek Orłowski, a Lead Scientist who brings over 20 years of academic and R&D experience in Molecular Biology, Structural Biology, and Protein Science. In addition to his role at Selvita, Marek serves as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Chemistry at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, where he has gained extensive experience in scientific projects and supervision of both diploma and doctoral students. He has co-authored over 22 publications related to his research. Throughout his career, Marek has been actively involved in numerous immuno-oncology projects, including two that received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for exploratory Investigational New Drug (eIND) applications for Phase 0 clinical studies in solid tumor cancer patients. At Selvita, his responsibilities in the Antibody Drug Discovery Laboratory encompass full scientific support to the team in projects and tasks related to antibody discovery and development, with a particular focus on antibody engineering and affinity maturation.
