Starting the week with BIG NUMBERS: The global text-generation market is predicted to generate more than $1 trillion in revenue by 2030. 📈 But who are the biggest fans of this technology? Text generation saw explosive growth since 2022 with the advent of GPT-3.5 and GPT-4, and headline moments like Google engineer Blake Lemoine’s claim about sentient AI. 🤖 And as a tool, text-generation has been the most broadly applicable use value so far. This is probably why everyone has been jumping on board. However, the Asia-Pacific region seems to be the world’s fastest-growing adopter of this technology. In particular, the Philippines (5,236 searches per 100k of its population) and Singapore (2,673 per 100k). Yet, the future sustainability of AI text tools is uncertain. As AI starts training on AI-generated content, Ross Anderson, Professor of Security Engineering at the University of Cambridge , warns, "Just as we’ve strewn the oceans with plastic trash and filled the atmosphere with carbon dioxide, so we’re about to fill the Internet with blah." What do you think the future of text-generation will look like? 🤔 Let us know in the comments!

You can’t do everything on your own. Even the biggest players can’t. 🙅♂️ Collaboration is the ONLY way to go about today’s complex landscape of financial services. Fintechs know how to make things simpler, quicker and cheaper – Janusz Diemko, Payments Consultant, Angel Investor and Mentor will tell you all about it. 🎯 Incumbents have a lot to win when getting together with the new kids on the block. There is a different perspective too, though. Forbes’ Ron Shevlin writes that “By the end of this decade, bank-fintech partnerships will be a thing of the past.” Why? 🤔 He thinks the most successful fintechs will be either acquired by banks or by established bank tech firms.  Are we moving towards more collaboration or, actually, less. WDYT?

What will the future of the finance sector look like? This is what Seif K. (Innovation Strategy & New Ventures at ABN AMRO Bank N.V.), Steve Blanchet, Ph.D. (Head of Group Technology Strategy and Innovation at Pictet Group), and Tomasz Owczarek (VP, Head of Sales and Strategy at Mastercard) discussed during our Disruption Forum. 🏦 Here are some of the key takeaways: ·  Tomasz Owczarek highlighted the tough economic climate for startups, especially fintechs, facing limited capital and rising costs. ·  Steve Blanchet, Ph.D. emphasized the shift towards small, continuous improvements over large-scale disruptive projects, making incremental innovation a practical approach. ·  Seif K. identified under-hyped areas with substantial potential, such as electronic identity solutions, open finance, and international payments. Their beautiful products and superb user experience are key, but what gets less attention is their focus on accelerating time to market. Who are we talking about? Apple! 🍏 For years, Apple has rapidly delivered new devices, outpacing competitors like Samsung Electronics by offering the latest technology faster. And here’s how you can do the same in 2024: 1. Initial plan for software development 2. Rapid prototyping 3. Automation (of all sorts) 4. Shorter approvals processes 5. Improved data availability 6. Efficient tracking system 7. Team extension Accelerating time to market isn’t just about speed. It's about making smart, strategic decisions. 🏆

“I want to know my money is safe” – is it your grandma talking? No, it’s your daughter. Young generations are just as concerned about security as the previous ones. 💸 With the financial sector being constantly under cyber attack, it’s no wonder young people worry about the safety of the platforms they use and transactions they make. “You can have the most amazing idea for a seamless payment experience, but if it’s not secure enough, it’s not going to scale,” – notes Frantisek Jungr, Head of Product in CEE at Visa. 💳 As trust is a must, let’s remind some of the best practices for cybersecurity in financial services: 1. Implement robust security controls through product security engineering 2. Detect anomalies with monitoring 3. Introduce compliance & regulations 4. Verify your dependencies and suppliers to protect against supply chain attacks 5. Implement Zero Trust Architecture for your internal/corporate tools 6. Prepare backups to protect against outages caused by ransomware or wipers 7. Implement access controls Interested to know more about cybersecurity? We’re here to help. 🔐

Can an app make remote work feel more human? 🏠 In a way, this was the challenge Aurea Software had for us. They wanted to create an app that would redefine hybrid work collaboration, solving the problems that come with working remotely. So, we helped them to: - Create a comprehensive, adaptable, and robust company hub to improve hybrid work - Develop a clickable prototype with features such as videoconferencing, networking, resource management, and life-like interactions - Address remote work challenges including feelings of disillusionment, disengagement, and disconnection And that’s how Huddle was born. ✨ To bring this app to life, we implemented the following: - Focused on user views, enhancing the online meeting experience, and interaction concepts - Designed detailed individual floors and rooms, along with admin views including chat design, login logic, and management modules for plugins and integrations - Prepared and conducted tests with potential users, implemented feedback, and created comprehensive project documentation - Found optimal UX solutions and validated ideas through user tests - Based the product skeleton on low-fidelity wireframes crafted by our UX experts - Built dashboards, features, and views that support parallel networking and knowledge sharing - Enhanced user experience with integral visual components used across the platform We want to thank the Aurea Software team for letting us join this project, and give kudos to the Netguru team! 🚀 Check out the deck below to see the results:
