Yara International la ut dette på nytt
Two days ago, we had the pleasure of welcoming Tobias Goldschmidt, Minister for Energy Transition, Climate Protection, Environment and Nature in the State of Schleswig-Holstein (🇩🇪) to our hydrogen plant in Porsgrunn. Officially inaugurated on 10th June, Yara’s 24 MW renewable #hydrogen plant – the largest in Europe – produces hydrogen through the electrolysis of water and #renewable energy, replacing natural gas as feedstock and annually cutting 41,000 tons of #CO2 emissions from the site. 📉 During the visit, the Minister engaged in discussions with our colleagues Reidar Tveit, Pål Klavenes, Dag Ekelberg, and Sigurd Engevik Jørgensen about the opportunities and challenges of #decarbonizing the #nitrogen industry. This sector is crucial for ensuring food security, clean air, and a resilient Europe. Not only does the German State of Schleswig-Holstein host Yara’s major #ammonia and urea plant in Brunsbüttel, but it also signed with Yara and five other energy-intensive companies a joint roadmap to achieve #climateneutrality. 🎯 Thanks for coming, Minister Goldschmidt, Deputy Ambassador Friedo Sielemann, Christina Lerch, Henning Mümmler, Michael Kern and Thomas Friebel! We are eager to continue our collaborative efforts to ensure a sustainable and resilient nitrogen industry both in Germany and beyond.
