An inspiring royal visit to Oslo Science City from HRH Princess Astrid of Belgium and the Belgian Economic Mission this week! The University of Oslo and Oslo Science City welcomed 450 people from academia, biotech and medtech to the Belgium & Norway Life Sciences Day in Forskningsparken - Oslo Science Park. The program focused on life science, collaborative research, technology transfer and entrepreneurial initiatives to stimulate more innovation and sustainable economic growth based on excellent science. HRH Princess Astrid and HE Hadja Lahbib, Minister of Foreign Affairs, visited Health2Be at Norway Health Tech where Michael Eimstad demonstrated the award-winning EpiShuttle and Jon Amund Kyte presented the Oncodistinct network for clinical trials. Great connections between Oslo University Hospital, the University of Oslo and Institut Jules Bordet, Université catholique de Louvain and Queen Astrid Military Hospital in Belgium. Norwegian and Belgian students from UiO and UCLouvain shared their experiences with Circle U. (European University Alliance), the European University Alliance to increase students' engagement in innovation and sustainability. The program continued with a seminar dedicated to universities' role in innovation ecosystems hosted by University of Oslo, UCLouvain and Oslo Science City. Excellent science is the basis for dynamic and entrepreneurial innovation ecosystems. The success story of nuclear medicine and second-generation radiopharmaceuticals for cancer treatment was showcased in the last seminar of the day, where Øyvind Bruland, Caroline Stokke, Erik Flatmark and Thomas Birger Edén-Jensen discussed the complete value chain established in Oslo, supported by Carl Henrik Görbitz, Jan Bjaalie and Leif Rune Skymoen. In May 2025, Oslo Science City together with University of Oslo and Oslo University Hospital will host the international symposium TAT-13 with updates on recent developments across the spectrum of targeted alpha therapy.
