Plastic waste doesn’t need to end up in landfills 💡 We have the technology to transform post-consumer plastics into high-quality, ready-for-market recycled materials. Advanced mechanical recycling (AMR) efficiently processes plastic waste from various streams, including mixed waste. Advanced mechanical recycling includes: 🔹 Decontamination and label removal: Ensuring plastics are clean and ready for recycling. 🔹 Flake sorting: Separating plastics into polymer types and color groups for optimal reuse. 🔹 Deodorization: Eliminating odors to create fresh, reusable plastic. 🔹 Extrusion and pelletizing: Converting sorted plastics into pellets for new product manufacturing. With extensive pre-sorting and purification steps, AMR guarantees high-quality results, turning what was once waste into valuable resources. Watch to learn more, and download our white paper for all the details: https://lnkd.in/d5cfFm5U . #RecyclingRevolution #CircularEconomy #PlasticRecycling #AdvancedMechanicalRecycling

At TOMRA, we believe in pushing the boundaries of what's possible in waste management. 💡 Together with a Norwegian waste sorting plant, we've shown that mixed waste sorting can be a game-changer. Since shifting from separate plastics collection to mixed waste sorting, the IVAR facility has increased its recovery rates from 28% to 82%. This achievement translates to a recycling rate of 56.4%, hitting the EU's 2025 recycling targets well ahead of time. 🚀 Today, #IVAR stands as a leader in processing municipal solid waste by volume. The benefits of mixed waste sorting are clear: ✔ Eliminating separate plastics collection: Reduced costs and simplified processes. ✔ Boosting recycling: Providing market-ready recycled materials for new products and packaging. ✔ Reducing CO2 footprint: Making a significant environmental impact. Learn more about #mixedwastesorting: https://lnkd.in/dG_vM-Fa As we appreciate these advancements, we should also raise awareness for the UN's global plastics treaty aimed at tackling plastic pollution at its source. We’ll be attending the #INC5 in November to support this important initiative, and we've developed 10 recommendations to guide effective action. You can read them here: https://lnkd.in/dsxPnh5c #WasteManagement #Recycling #CircularEconomy #UNPlasticsTreaty #GlobalPlasticsTreaty

Refill solutions are a game-changer in the fight against packaging waste, and we wanted to know how you're incorporating them into your daily life. Here’s what we found out from our recent poll. 💡    ✨ 53% of you choose refill-at-home packaging whenever it’s available!️ This circular option not only reduces waste but also often cuts down on the environmental impact of production and transport.    ✨ 30% use refill packaging sometimes – a flexible approach that still contributes positively to circularity.     ✨ 17% don’t see refill-at-home packaging as an option yet. We hear you! More widespread availability and options are key to making this a mainstream choice.     Why refill matters: Refill-at-home systems help to minimize single-use packaging by allowing you to use the same container multiple times. This means less waste going to landfills and a reduction in the resources needed to produce new packaging.     Interested in learning more about our Reuse system currently being piloted in Denmark? https://lnkd.in/dANA9wKV  #PPWR #ReusablePackaging #Reuse #Sustainability

New partnership with Henkel to optimize packaging for recycling 🤝 By installing an AUTOSORT™ detection system in their test laboratory, the manufacturer of globally recognized brands such as #Schwarzkopf, #Persil, and #Pritt can now test their packaging before its market launch. This ensures their products have the right properties for easy sorting and recycling after disposal. 💡 Recognizing the important role product manufacturers play in the success of recycling, we’re sharing our expertise and working hand-in-hand with brand owners like Henkel to make a positive impact. Dr. Volker Rehrmann, EVP and Head of TOMRA Recycling, says it best: ‘A functioning circular economy is only possible if everyone involved in the value chain works together. That’s why collaborations like the one with Henkel are so important."
