All these countries in the Europe, Middle East & Africa region have something in common… and it is great news for any companies looking to increase the resilience and #security of their #supplychains. In the first six months of 2024, they have all seen more #TAPA supply chain security Standards’ certifications. This means companies looking to work with partners meeting our industry-leading Facility Security Requirements (FSR) and Trucking Security Requirements (TSR) Standards now have an even bigger choice of TAPA-certified #logistics service providers to choose from. Designed by the industry, for the industry, our Standards have been helping companies to manage #risks and prevent #losses from their supply chains for over 24 years. If you’re a #manufacturer wanting to find out more about TAPA-certified companies, or a #freight, #transport or logistics organisation that wants to show your security capabilities and commitment to #supplychainresilience, visit our website to find out more https://lnkd.in/eMX8Kj9b or contact us at info@tapaemea.org #tapaemea #supplychainsecurity

Well said ∴ Filipe de Almeida ∴ #taparized
It was an amazing experience as usual to participate in the Transported Asset Protection Association EMEA Anual Conference in #Amsterdam. To be able to network with the top experts in #SupplyChainSecurity from all across the region, to share experiences, learn new information, be aware of new threats and what are the evolving best practices to minimize risk is something absolutely priceless! The human factor is a key ingredient in building trust in partnerships and i'm proud to be part of this amazing family and to be fully #TAPArized. It was an honor to represent the Working Group of #volunteers that is working hard to promote TAPA Standards in Portugal & Spain (a team of true heroes doing an amazing work) and to share some information on all the efforts being done both by individuals and companies to raise #SecurityAwareness in the industry! To Thorsten Neumann, Ap Boom CPP PSP, Markus Prinz and all the #TAPATeam a heartfelt thank you for the absolutely amazing conference organized and for all the support that you have been giving to the regional teams! Only with your support it has been possible to develop the ongoing work! Finally, a great thanks to Rangel Logistics Solutions for recognizing the growing need to be proactive and increase the organizational #resilience! It's great to be able to make a difference and feel the endorsement, empowerment and commitment to face all the challenges that we have ahead in the path for a more resilient organization! To all of you that want to learn more about #CargoCrime and #SecurityRisks in #Iberia, save the dates to join one of our Regional Conferences in October 9th (#Madrid) & 29th (#Lisbon)! Together we are stronger! #supplychainsecurity #riskmanagement #organizationalresilience #security #SCRM #TAPA #RANGEL

The so-called #cargo #crime of ‘Romanian M.O.’ or Theft from Moving Truck has been identified again, with two incidents in the Netherlands in June causing ‘at least a million euros’ of #losses of #electronics products. The Dutch daily newspaper, De Telegraaf, reports the incidents took place on the night of 6-7 June on the A12 between Ede and the German border and on 12 June between Waalwijk and Ede. “The drivers hadn't noticed anything, but discovered the #robbery when they were standing still. The locks of the #trucks had been cut and the entire load was gone. In the second robbery, the robbers emptied the car within an hour of the car driving away with a load,” the De Telegraaf report states. #police have appealed for witnesses to support their #investigation – and issued a warning to the #transport and #logistics industry to be extra vigilant. In support of one line of investigation, De Telegraaf says police are trying to find out which of the dozens of members of the Romanian gang who were arrested in Romania in 2020 are at large. According to the media report, between 2015 and 2020, the gang struck at least 15 times in the Netherlands and dozens of times in other countries. De Telegraaf says: “Remarkably, the 'stunt robbers' all lived in a compact area on the outskirts of Bucharest. There are special training camps where they are trained.” Although these types of incidents are rare, when they do occur, the cost impact for #supplychains, as shown in these latest attacks, can be substantial. #tapaemea asks members to #report any incidents or sightings of suspicious activity to the Association at tisteam@tapaemea.org Theft from Moving Truck crimes usually involve the use of several vehicles by crime groups. They place vehicles in front and alongside a truck as it is travelling along a highway to control its speed and movements. Another vehicle will then approach the back of the truck and drive close enough for one of the offenders to exit the vehicle – usually via the roof – and climb onto the bonnet of the car to reach the locks on the rear truck doors. Once the doors are opened, straps are used to stop the doors from swinging open and alerting the truck driver. Goods are then passed from the truck to a waiting vehicle behind, which then makes its escape. Losses are usually not detected until the target vehicle reaches its destination. #tapa #roadfreight #trucking #roadtransport #crimenews
