During last week's IOS Fair Transitions LANDac - The Netherlands Land Academy Conference 2024 in Utrecht, our CEO, Thomas Vaassen, participated in a session on the challenges faced by informal farmers and the cocoa and coffee supply chains regarding the impact of the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) on local communities from a land administration perspective. Thomas presented how Meridia is the first party to have developed detailed land rights legality tests as part of Meridia Verify, which verifies field data and validates EUDR compliance in real time. #EUDR #LandAdministration #LandRights #Sustainability #Cocoa #Coffee #SustainableCocoa #SustainableCoffee
Last Wednesday at the IOS Fair Transitions LANDac - The Netherlands Land Academy Conference 2024 in Utrecht, we hosted an insightful session on the European Union Deforestation Regulation's (EUDR) impact on local communities, from the land administration perspective. Case studies from our Ivory Coast, Peru, and our LAND-at-scale programme in Colombia were presented, challenges for informal farmers and the cocoa and coffee supply chain were discussed, and data and educational solutions proposed. A big thank you to our panel speakers Sander Muilerman-Rodrigo, Ph.D. , Gert van der Bijl , Thomas Vaassen , Tim Jonker and the participants for their valuable insights and contributions to the discussion!
