In 2015, Ogechi Esimai had an idea to come up with creative ways for children to learn, discover new things and be innovative. One random evening, her husband returned from work with a newspaper ad that said “Become a Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneur” and encouraged her to give it a shot and apply to #TEF2015. What was initially just an idea has grown to become TAW Academy, a creative education company that designs fun learning tools that develop success skills in children ages 0 to 1. Since participating in the Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme in 2015, TAW Academy has impacted over 40,000 children in schools. Listen to this amazing to Ogechi, as she shares her inspiring success story at the TEF- US Government Special Reception Event. #EmpoweredByTEF #TEF2024

Yesterday, our Founder, Tony O. Elumelu, C.F.R , and our CEO, Somachi Chris-Asoluka, received Amb. Samuela Isopi, EU Ambassador; Ms. Emanuela Del Re, EU Special Representative for the Sahel region; and Jamie Christoff, High Commissioner of Canada to Nigeria. Hosted by our Founder, the meeting explored opportunities to expand our partnership with the European Union and potential collaborations between Canada and Nigeria. Through our partnership with the EU, we have empowered over 2,500 young women entrepreneurs across Africa who have created tens of thousands of decent jobs across the continent. Many of these women entrepreneurs have also secured additional funding of up to €50,000 through our second stage partnership with the EU; the Women Entrepreneurship for Africa (WE4A) Programme. We remain committed to our mission of empowering a new generation of young entrepreneurs who will increase job creation, drive poverty alleviation and ensure inclusive economic opportunity. #AfricanEntrepreneurs, we’re set to do even more for you! #EmpoweredByTEF #TEF2024

#AfricanEntrepreneurs Welcome to a brand new week! This week, you must renew your commitment to excellence in every step of your entrepreneurial journey! As Our Founder, Tony O. Elumelu, C.F.R states: “As entrepreneurs, you must understand the importance of quality, reliability, integrity and above all professionalism. The short run attention to excellence might not give you returns, depending on how you define returns, but in the long run, it will give you significant returns, as long as excellence remains your watchword.” #EmpoweredByTEF #TEF2024
