British Columbia has achieved carbon neutrality across the provincial public sector for the sixth consecutive year, helping to lower greenhouse-gas emissions while generating jobs.

The polluter-pay principle ensures those who are responsible for spills are also

responsible for cleaning them up and is designed to keep the cost of response off of

taxpayers.

Permitting and compliance are under the purview of dedicated Ministry of Environment staff who make evidence-based decisions based on best available science.
