The district said in its request for proposals that it is currently using a manually typed Excel spreadsheet to record annual and accrued leave, as well as paper timesheets, for more than 8,200 employees. It is looking to shift to an electronic timekeeping system that can adapt to various rules and work schedules that are unique to different departments and position. The plan: The Des Moines Independent Community School District in Iowa is searching for community education programs that will be delivered during non-school hours. The district said that it is looking for academic enrichment opportunities for students, as well as recreational, athletic, and arts classes. Programs may focus on topics including remedial education in math, science and reading; telecommunications and technology education; tutoring and mentoring; cooking and nutrition; entrepreneurial education; and esports, among others. The district will provide space for the programs to be delivered. Questions must be submitted through the district’s online bidding portal.
Clovis Municipal School District, N.M.

The plan: The Clovis Municipal School District in New Mexico is seeking information from vendors that offer school management and financial software systems. In a request for information, the district said it is looking to learn about vendors’ products including whether they can accept card payments and track inventory through a point-of-sale system, what a delivery schedule for implementing the software looks like, how many years of data conversion it offers, and what type of post-implementation support the vendor offers.
