The fight for health equity in Sub-Saharan Africa is hindered by a major obstacle: a shortage of health workers. Community Health Workers (#CHWs) programs are emerging as a powerful solution, as they are trained to deliver critical services in resource-limited settings. Supported by our Smart Health App, community health workers can track mothers throughout their pregnancies - from the first point of contact through labor - and ensure that every child is visited within their first 48 hours to identify any danger signs and provide essential care. Community Health Workers (CHWs) do more than just assess and treat common childhood illnesses in children under one year old; they also play a crucial role in educating mothers about health issues and promoting positive behavioral changes. #StopChildMortality #EmpowerCHWs #Digitalhealth #Healthforall

Last week, Living Goods Uganda hosted Hon. Stephen Aseera, a Member of Parliament (MP) from Buhaguzi East, in the communities we serve. He interacted with the community health workers (called Village Health Teams – VHTs in Uganda) and observed how they support, treat, and educate households on maintaining good health and preventing diseases. This visit was important for the MP to gain a comprehensive understanding of the VHTs' role and contribution, to aid his continued advocacy for their work. #EmpoweringVHTs #CommunityHealth #LivingGoods #SustainableHealthcare

The effective management of essential supplies is a crucial aspect of healthcare delivery. In partnership with the Ministry of Health, Kenya and supported by the USAID Misingi Imara Project and Medic, inSupply Health, Kenya Red Cross and Lwala Community Alliance, we looked into the electronic community health information system (eCHIS) commodity workflow to ensure a smooth supply chain from health facilities to community health promoters (CHPs). Find out more about our efforts to expand these improvements to additional counties in Kenya: https://lnkd.in/d4_Mu8wY #CommunityHealth, #SupplyChain, #HealthcareInnovation, #KenyaHealth #CHPs

The electronic community health information system (eCHIS) successfully rolled out in all 47 counties nationwide. Congratulations to the Ministry of Health, Kenya, counties, funders, and fellow partners for their collaboration and support toward this accomplishment.
🎉 Lets celebrate a HUGE milestone for Kenya! Just two years ago, together with the Ministry of Health and as part of the Community Health Units for Universal Health Coverage (CHU4UHC), we had a dream to digitize all Community Health Promoters (CHPs) across all 47 counties. Today, that dream is a reality! 🌍💻 With full coverage of registered households across all 47 counties, Kenya can now focus on enhancing quality, performance management, and capacity building for CHPs. Shout out to our amazing CHU4UHC partners: Medic, AMREF, UNICEF, Lwala Community Alliance, Living Goods, and ENAI - Africa, for supporting CHPs to use this system (eCHIS). We at FAH will continue the cause by mobilizing additional resources to achieve even greater wins. Congratulations ONCE AGAIN! 💪👏

The Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene in Burkina Faso, with financial support from Living Goods, organized a workshop at the end of June. This was to develop the 2024 Annual Work Plan (AWP) as part of the implementation of the 2024-2028 national community health strategy. The workshop brought together representatives from the Ministry, civil society, and technical and financial partners. The AWP will help capitalize on activities carried out in the first half of the year and plan interventions for the second half. The National Community Health Strategy aims to structure community health efforts over the next five years. This workshop, supported by Living Goods, demonstrates its commitment to promoting integrated, digital health in Burkina Faso, ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare for all. #BurkinaFaso #Communityhealth #Healthforall
