#ArtInTheCity “Working with Aldo allowed me from the very beginning to transform the vision I had in my mind into real images" with these words, Giorgio Armani refers to the long collaboration with Aldo Fallai that led to the exhibition "Aldo Fallai for Giorgio Armani 1977 – 2021", on view at Armani / Silos until August 11, 2024. The exhibition narrates almost thirty years of uninterrupted artistic dialogue between Giorgio Armani and Aldo Fallai, exploring the boundaries of a unique collaboration that defined the very essence of an aesthetic that has made its way into the collective imagination: the images are pure invention yet they capture a real instant, they are immediate, timeless, aspiring to portray the best life possible, with scenes and situations in which the spectator could see themselves. ___ Courtesy: Armani/Silos

#ArtInTheCity On the occasion of the project "Thinking Like a Mountain", GAMeC - Galleria d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Bergamo returns to the prestigious Palazzo della Ragione venue, in the heart of the old town, with "Benevolence", a new site-specific project conceived for the Sala delle Capriate by the English artist Sonia Boyce (London, 1962). The project for Palazzo della Ragione led the artist to approach the Bergamo area and its history with curiosity, and to focus her attention on traditional Italian folksongs. curiosity, and to focus her attention on traditional Italian folksongs. Boyce embarked on a collaboration project with three students from the Conservatorio Gaetano Donizetti who were invited last autumn to perform and improvise popular songs in the heart of Bergamo’s “Città Alta.” This dialogue between Sonia Boyce and the students shows a great deal about the process that led to the staging of Benevolence, consisting of six “visual monuments” that will occupy the Sala delle Capriate in Palazzo della Ragione. The exhibition runs until September 22, 2024. ___ Ph: Lorenzo Palmieri

#ArtInTheCity "CHIARA CAMONI. Chiamare a raduno. Sorelle. Falene e fiammelle. Ossa di leonesse, pietre e serpentesse" is waiting for you at Pirelli HangarBicocca until July 21, 2024. The show brings together the largest body of works ever presented by Chiara Camoni and, together with a series of new productions, gives life to an architecture of collectivity and memory, whose forms are inspired by the Italian gardens of the late Renaissance and the ancient amphitheaters. The symmetrical and radial design of the floor plan creates corridors and rooms, paths and environments that divide the space into areas where visitors can linger or converse. This large installation houses numerous other works by the artist, including a great selection of polychrome and glazed terracotta sculptures. ___ Ph: Agostino Osio

#ArtInTheCity MUDEC - Museo delle Culture continues its collaboration with Magnum Photos hosting “Martin Parr. Short & Sweet” exhibition until June 30, 2024, dedicated to one of the most established and recognised British documentary photographers of our time. Starting with his early works in black and white, the exhibition is focused on themes that are dear to Parr – from ‘sea life’ to tourism, displaying over 60 photographs that Martin Parr has personally selected for this project and presented together with over 200 images from the Common Sense series – that made him a household name – selected from the 350 displayed in the 1999 exhibition of the same name, which take a close look at mass consumption and waste culture, particularly in the West and Europe. __ Image: © Martin Parr / Magnum Photos | Martin Parr, Spain, Benidorm. #ArtInTheCity In the venues of Museo del Novecento Milano, Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro presents "Off Script" the solo exhibition of Dutch artist Magali Reus winner of the 7th edition of the Arnaldo Pomodoro Sculpture Prize, on view until June 30, 2024. This exhibition, in collaboration with the Museo del Novecento and curated by Federico Giani, includes a selection of the artist's most recent sculptures, the Clementine series which take their visual cue from familiar jam and preserves jars. In these works the nostalgia of domestic food production is intertwined with the reality of mass production and distribution by multinational corporations; the re-appropriation and reuse of these objects within the domestic context transforms these jars into contradictory objects, containers of intimate and personal memories. __ Credits: Magali Reus.
