#ArtInTheCity "CHIARA CAMONI. Chiamare a raduno. Sorelle. Falene e fiammelle. Ossa di leonesse, pietre e serpentesse" is waiting for you at Pirelli HangarBicocca until July 21, 2024. The show brings together the largest body of works ever presented by Chiara Camoni and, together with a series of new productions, gives life to an architecture of collectivity and memory, whose forms are inspired by the Italian gardens of the late Renaissance and the ancient amphitheaters. The symmetrical and radial design of the floor plan creates corridors and rooms, paths and environments that divide the space into areas where visitors can linger or converse. This large installation houses numerous other works by the artist, including a great selection of polychrome and glazed terracotta sculptures. ___ Ph: Agostino Osio

Did you know Nashville has a full-scale replica of the Parthenon? It is located in Centennial Park. A sculpture of Athena Parthenos inside the Parthenon is the tallest indoor sculpture in the western hemisphere at 42 feet high. Another architectural highlight is the 33-story AT&T building, aka the Batman Building, in downtown Nashville. The distinctive towers on either side of the building, which led to its name, were added to make the skyscraper taller than any other buildings in the state. Check out both of these local landmarks while you’re in town for the LMA Southeast Regional Conference on November 8-10, 2023. Register today at https://lnkd.in/eheuW6J5

Strolling through Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance, I stumbled upon an unexpected revelation about progress—it seems the grand masters of art were just as clueless about the final outcome of their masterpieces as I am about what to cook for dinner. Amid the splendor of historic art and architecture, one can't help but notice (how could you not?) an abundance of stone-crafted men's genitalia, staring back at you from every corner. It’s as if the Renaissance artists were saying, "We might not know where we're going with this piece, but hey, here’s something we're sure of!" This comical observation became a metaphor for the advice I find myself giving to clients who are frozen by perfectionism. They're waiting for the stars to align, for that perfect plan to materialize, much like waiting for a Renaissance statue to dress itself. But here's the thing—the digital world doesn’t care for your meticulously laid plans. It's more 'shoot first, ask questions later'. In an age where you can edit a tweet but can't edit a marble statue, the message is clear: start sculpting your ideas into existence before worrying about the polish. Reflecting on the overabundance of sculpted male nudity in Florence, it dawns on me that the path to progress is littered with imperfections, or in this case, an awkward amount of Renaissance-era male anatomy. It’s a hilarious reminder that if these artists had waited to perfect their vision before chipping away at marble, the world would be devoid of its most celebrated artworks. So, to anyone out there paralyzed by the pursuit of perfection, remember: even Michelangelo had to start somewhere—and it was probably with a block of marble and a very naked model. #PerfectionIsOverrated #RenaissanceRealTalk #ProgressThroughImperfection #mirandism #unapologetic #unapologeticdude

Loewe presents its new collection inspired by the universe of the ceramics studio Suna Fujita: magical characters that are transferred to the iconic pieces of the house. Penguins, lemurs, panda bears and fantasy characters flood Loewe's shop window presenting its iconic pieces customised with Suna Fujita's creations. The two facades of Madrid and London are the great spectacle of this project. The intervention of both protected façades was a double challenge with no anchorage to support the structures. 109 penguins and 79 seaweeds adorn both European façades. The challenge of the windows has been to level the approx. 100 rockers as each bag and position is different. More than 100 vintage ladders have been purchased all over Europe. #AciertaRetail #LOEWE

The Priamar Fortress of Savona is an imposing military complex that dominates the city center at the port. Built between 1542 and 1544 by the Genoese as part of the interventions aimed at the definitive subjugation of the city of Savona by the "Superba", and enlarged several times, it takes its name from the hill immediately overlooking the sea on which it stands, where the the first settlements date back to the Bronze Age. According to some scholars, the denomination could derive from pria a' mà (stone on the sea in the Ligurian language), or from pria mala (bad stone, ie friable). This is the most important fortification in all of Western Liguria which currently has a very articulated and complex form due to the many different historical phases of construction and expansion. After decades of neglect, it has been restored and is currently home to various cultural activities.
