I am happy to announce that on June 28, The World Bank 's board approved the second tranche of low-carbon #energy Programmatic #Development #Policy #operation. This US$1.5 Billion of policy lending focuses on widening the policy landscape for #greenhydrogen and it's derivatives, deepening the penetration and integration of #renewable #energy and enhancing financing for such solutions. The first tranche of US$1.5 Billion was approved by The World Bank in last June. As one of the team leads of this engagement from the World Bank, it was an enriching and a fulfilling journey indeed. As Member, NITI Aayog, Dr Saraswat initiated the ‘#methanol Economy’ programme for transportation, #energy #generation and #production of #chemicals and #fertilisers, etc. As part of the initiative, M-15 #gasoline blend, methanol cooking stove, methanol-fuelled #propulsion for inland waterways, and methanol-fueled gensets are being introduced in the country. He is the recipient of many awards, including the #padmashri (1998) and #Padmabhushan (2013). He has been conferred an #honorary #doctorate by more than 25 universities.
