Dr. Lichtenstein's research focuses on access to care for low income and uninsured populations. His current interests include community-based participatory research; racial and ethnic disparities in health; barriers to health insurance coverage for low-income children; the effects of discrimination on access to healthcare; and, efforts to increase diversity in the health workforce. Additionally, he is interested in issues related to the diversity of the healthcare workforce, the effects of discrimination on access to healthcare, and the performance of multidisciplinary / interprofessional healthcare teams.
