【Cyberport and Hang Seng Expand Partnership with Synergy to Strengthen Hong Kong's Innovation and Technology Ecosystem】   The partnership between Hang Seng Bank and Cyberport started in 2021, the expanded collaboration this time focuses on the Index Innovation Lab, SME digital transformation, green finance and technology, and nurturing innovation and technology (I&T) talents, aiming to facilitate the development of I&T in Hong Kong.  To date, Hang Seng Bank and Cyberport have jointly developed and launched over 40 I&T projects. 【Innovator’s Story】Breaking Debuts at Paris Olympics, Cyberport Startup Diggin’ Develops Scoring System to Eliminate Injustice The Paris Olympics is set to kick off with breakdancing, simply Breaking, to make its debut as a newly added sport. #Diggin', a digital system platform for scoring breaking nurtured by Cyberport, was approached by the Olympic organizer to explore collaboration opportunities. As one of the users, WONG Chiu Wai (LadyBanan), representative of the Hong Kong Breaking Team, has shared in interviews with various media outlets that Diggin's scoring system helps speed up the scoring process. For instance, in an preliminary competition with 100 participants, which needs to select a dozen in a short time, a scoring APP would enhance efficiency. Additionally, dancers can identify their weaknesses through this platform after the competition, enabling them to improve through training and corrections. Although Diggin's scoring system was not adopted by the Paris Olympic organizing committee, the founder, Ching LUI, took it easy and believed that the detailed scoring system helped address issues that athletes might find unfair. 【Cyberport and Hong Kong Housing Society PropTech Proof-Of-Concept Programme（2nd Cohort）Open for Application Soon】 The Northern Metropolis is an important base for promoting the development of I&T industries. Cyberport is committed to propelling Hong Kong’s smart city development and bolstering the innovative community. In collaboration with the PropTech of Hong Kong Housing Society, the co-working space has been launched and Cyberport has selected 13 start-ups from PoC programme to support them with a HK$1.6 million grant to complete the PoC process and a chance to pilot their innovative solutions at HKHS properties to demonstrate I&T effectiveness. The event brought together 20 approved solution providers under Digital Transformation Support Pilot Programme (DTSPP). District Council members, Advisory Group, Vetting Committee of the Digital Transformation Support Pilot Programme, and representatives from supporting organisations were also invited to attend the Solution Day, creating a lively atmosphere. During the event, SMEs in the F&B and Retail industries experienced various digital solutions and engaged with solution providers. There were also some successfully matched cases on-site, effectively and conveniently promoting the digital transformation of SMEs. 【🍽️F&B and 🛒Retail SMEs utilise“Digital Transformation Support Pilot Programme”to enhance competitiveness through digital solutions】 Funded by the HKSAR Government with HK$500 million, Digital Transformation Support Pilot Programme is now accepting applications from local SMEs in the F&B and Retail industries for funding support in adopting off-the-shelf digital solutions to enhance their competitiveness. Yakiniku Kumamoto has successfully matched with the solution provider, Mark Technology, to adopt a POS system integrated with WhatsApp. The system allows customers to place orders and pay online via the restaurant's WhatsApp by scanning its QR code. It also automatically records customers' dining preferences. This new solution allows the restaurant staff to spend less time on order processing and checkout, enabling them to focus more on providing quality services to customers.
