Motor Yacht Dandy. Very disappointing.

The advert for the Yacht looked extremely appealing, a luxury boat with everything you would need. Unfortunately it is far from the photos! It is extremely dated inside, not very clean and has lots of damp! The toilets do not work correctly and were continuously blocking as the flushes did not work properly, the kitchen is outdated and grubby, the only window in the kitchen does not open and the tiny room gets extremely hot! The boat had a damp rotting smell our entire stay, to the point that some items of clothing needed to be chucked away due to the smell lingering in the clothes. Most of our group left with bites of some sort over us due to possible fleas or bed bugs. The timber decor is extremely rotten and damp in various places and actually has holes that have just been taped over!! Our host Natalia was great, and understood all of our concerns, but it very much sounded like the owners know about the issues but are happy to let it out anyway! Will not be returning and was very disappointed considering the price we paid to stay for 3 nights! We had a great time in Barcelona but the time on the boat had to be limited due to it not being up to standard you would expect for both the money and what is being advertised.

Just came back from 3 nights stay at Yacht Dandy. What a fabulous place to stay, it exceeded every expectation I had. A complete WOW!!!! There were 10 of us in total extremely roomy, it's actually easy to lose someone the Yacht is so big. I would recommend this to anyone looking for that extra special place to stay. My only regret is that we didn't take the Yacht out for a sail due to hangovers!!!!

Amazing way to stay in Barcelona!

I have just arrived back from an amazing stay aboard the Elmo T. I don't know where to start as it was a truly superb weekend. We were a group of 3 couples I booked direct with Sergio who took a deposit via paypal and the balance was paid on arrival. Sergio arranged a taxi to pick us up at the airport (€35 each way for 6 of us) and take us to the yacht which is in a secured marina close to La Ramblas in Barcelona. He was unable to meet us there so arranged for his sister to meet us who showed us round & he met us later to show us things in more detail. The yacht has 4 ensuite bedrooms, 3 doubles, 1 with bunk beds, all were airconditioned (though 2 didn't work - which wasn't such a problem at the end of October & Sergio was trying his best to rectify it). There was a kitchen with full sized american fridge freezer, a hob, dishwasher, microwave and oven and on the top deck there was a grill. There was (english) sky TV in the main living area and in the master bedroom for those wanting it. Outside there was a large seating area with a table and on the top deck there was another table and seating area and a cushioned area with room to sunbathe. As you'd expect in any good holiday rental there were ample towels and all the usual kitchen/dining utensils and equipment. There are 2 small supermarkets within walking distance for your supplies, one is at the bottom of La Ramblas (quickest way is out of gate, turn right and over footbridge) and the other is towards Bareceloneta (turn left out of gate over footbridge and right towards Museum and sort of diagonally across road in front of you) There are a few restaurants in the Port Vell Complex, we had a nice lunch in the 'Sweet' on the terrace, but with most restaurants, you pay a premium for sitting outside so take note of the small print! You can also get on the open top bus trips from the Port Vell complex which is a great way to see the city, as is the cable car - but be prepared for a bit of a queue for that one & don't forget your camera! All in all it was an amazing way to stay in Barcelona, we also had a sneaky look at 'Beyond The Sea' one of the other Yachts that Sergio rents out, it is out of this world & perfect if there are 10/12 people going, but I would definitely visit the Elmo T again, how often is it you can live the millionaires lifestyle for a very reasonable price! Oh and if you book, be prepared to be 'papped' by the open topped tourist buses that go past!!

An unforgettable weekend care of Elmo-T

We had a great time seeing the sights in Barcelona but what really made our weekend so awesome and memorable was staying on the Elmo-T. We we're a group of 3 couples celebrating a significant birthday and had such a laugh chilling out together on the yacht; the girls getting ready together, sunbathing on the front of the boat together or sitting on the top deck for a late night poker session. I would highly recommend staying on the Elmo-T and to top it off you get to deal with the gorgeous Sergio! What's not to like??!!

Our stay was absolutely fantastic and we definitely didn't want to leave

We booked this yacht as a suprise for my friends 60th birthday, we were a group of girls aged from mid 20's to 60 and everyone had a fantastic time. The photos of the yacht are amazing and we did wonder whether it would be like the photos in reality and I can confirm that the yacht exceeded our expecations, it was immaculate and very spacious The location was fabulous too and Sergio was extremely helpful with taxi's and resturant reservations etc, nothing was too much trouble. We are already planning our next visit...

Pay for a hotel near the marina? Don't be daft...stay on a yacht!

Seriously, it is cheaper to stay on a yacht than get a hotel in such a great location, and you get the benefit of socialising space as well. A brief review: Beautiful yacht, clean, comfortable beds, plenty room even for 6 blokes, 3 of which were over 6"3. Showers were good as well, which I didn't expect. There's an ice machine on board, and two fridges for beer/wine. Plenty of music systems. Loads of TVs, but we never turned them on. There are cooking facilities, but we were only there for the weekend so ate out. Plenty of seating space, both inside and out on the upper deck; great for having a pre-drink drink! For the more romantically inclined, the double rooms have partially mirrored ceilings. Not such a turn-on for six blokes sharing, however! The area is very secure, with 24 hour guards and locked gates. There is also a safe onboard for the valuables. Wifi availability courtesy of the yacht club if you wish it. Quiet area as there are no pubs or clubs nearby. Easy eating establishments directly across the road on the big marina if you so wish, and a small "super" market across the bridge, about 5 minutes away. Sergio is a very nice bloke, and looked after us well. He's on hand to deal with any issues quickly, not that we had any. We would definitely choose a yacht over a hotel again.

Brilliant find

We stayed on board Elmo-T for three nights in July to celebrate my sons 30th birthday and what a brilliant find it was. The location was perfect, The beach, Las Ramblas, the metro and a supermarket to buy our supplies from was all a few minutes walk away. The Yacht was well equipped for all our needs and we felt very secure as it was within the gated marina. I can't recommend this Yacht enough it was far better than I could have imagined and Sergio the man that looks after it was there to greet us on our arrival and was at the end of the phone if we needed him and was full of information. If you want some thing a bit different to celebrate a special occasion you wont go wrong with Elmo-T

Absolutely AMAZING!! Exceeded expectations

I booked the Elmo T for my sister as a surprise for her hen do. There was a group of 7 of us. We have been extremely excited about this break and when we arrived all of our expectations were not only met but exceeded! The yacht provided everything that we need to make our weekend enjoyable and comfortable. The bedrooms and living space are spacious and well kept. Sergio has been a huge help both before arriving and during our stay making sure that we had a brilliant time! He answered all of our questions and took time to ensure that we were having a good time. I cannot recommend this yacht and Sergio enough. We arrived back on Sunday morning and by the evening were already looking to see if we can book again! This was such an amazing experience.

Great experience in the heart of Barcelona

We stayed on Elmo-T for the weekend for a friend's birthday. It was simply a fantastic experience. The yacht was beautiful and in a prime location. It sleeps 8 very comfortably and is very secure. We have no complaints and would definetly return for another long weekend. Thanks to Sergio who could not have been more helpful, he booked restaurants for us and helped us with taxis. Definetly an unforgettable experience

Experience of a lifetime

I don't know where to start in writing this review because all aspects of our stay were incredible. The Elmo-T is an amazing yacht situated in the marina of the Real Club Nautico de Barcelona (RCNB) on the edge of the Gothic Barrio and Barceloneta. The location cannot get any more convenient; twenty minutes from the airport by taxi, five minute walk to Las Ramblas, five minute walk to Barceloneta and maybe 15 minutes to the beaches. The crew, Captain Dave and Jen are incredibly welcoming and accommodating; they will provide any assistance you require while on board and keep you laughing with their great sense of humor. Jen is an amazing chef capable of providing a world class meal without leaving the comforts of the yacht. The Elmo-T has two spacious staterooms with private baths and plenty of storage with an additional room with twin bunk-beds and private bath. All three rooms have individual climate control systems to keep you cool in the warm Mediterranean climate. The galley, dining area and living room are enormous and exceptionally equipped. The yacht has satellite TV for those of you who cannot miss an episode of CSI and internet provided by the RCNB while docked. The state of the art kitchen has ever amenity you need to cook a great meal that you can enjoy on the aft deck or fly bridge. Sergio is easy to work with and promptly answers any emails, phone calls or texts. He is more than happy to make reservations at top notch local restaurants or provide recommendations for sight seeing and nightlife. Staying on the Elmo-T was the highlight of our 18 day trip to Spain and I hope that we can someday return.
