Beautiful villa in a beautiful spot

Great location for trips into the city on the train and into the surrounding country. Great house and grounds. Loved playing ping pong with our kids. Very hot in August though.

We loved this house and location

Lovely traditional house, generous space inside and out, fantastic views. Enjoyed breakfast inder the mulberry tree. Rural village location but a short train ride to Barcelona centre. Well worth the short, steep walk up from the station and the steps up to the house. Cristina and Ursula were very helpful, before and during our stay, providing all the information we needed, giving us a lift up from the station with our luggage when we arrived and shopping for our first breakfast.

Lovely villa escape near Barcelona

We had a great time staying for 6 days at Cristina's house! In the past we stayed in the city center but it was a fun adventure to try something new - staying slightly out of town but it only took 20min on the nearby train (1 euro per ride) to get into the center of the city. We have a 2 year old and he loved it so much! He calls it his holiday house :-) we felt so relaxed and at home. Cristina even provided a travel cot for us so that we didn't have to sort out a crib. Ursula who takes care of the house is so helpful and nice. She even let us in when my mother in law got locked out. We would love to stay again. I highly recommend visiting the town Sant Cugat, just North on the same train line (8 min). We had a lovely time there going to cafes and shopping. There is a playground for children there too.

schönes Haus in schöner Gegend

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Urlaub. Nach der Hektik der Stadt haben wir uns immer wieder auf unser Ferienhaus gefreut. Der Weg zur S-Bahn war sehr einfach zu Fuß und die Bahn fährt in kurzen Abständen.

Casa cómoda en paisaje bonito junto al metro

La casa tenía todas las comodidades,por lo que pudimos descansar y estar con nuestros perros.Gracias a que está cerca del metro dejamos aparcado el coche esos días y nos quitarnos el problema de aparcarlo en la ciudad. El paisaje desde la casa es bonito y nos pareció muy original ver tantos jabalies en el bosque. Hemos descansado mucho.

a perfect base from which to visit Barcelona

The house was all we expected and more. Christina was very welcoming and helpful especially prior to the trip ( organising a taxi from the airport). The house was quaint with spacious bedrooms and very clean. The beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen very well equipped. The 2 balconies and patio all provided lovely outside seating. The journey into Barcelona was quick and easy. We all got 5 day passes which covered all trains, metro and buses in zone 1. Sometimes we went back into the city in the evening. We very much enjoyed going back to the house after a very busy and hot day in the city (we hit a heat wave!) All in all we loved everything!

amazing view relaxing house

Landlord Cristina was so nice and helpful.She received us on the first day and made sure that everything was ok for us. it was a really beautiful location,ideal for us as we where searching to spend a holiday out of pollution. it was just what we after, as its a relaxing spacious house. my little nephew really enjoyed. we had a wonderful holiday and probably be back next time we come to Barcelona.

Perfect stay!

A friend having stayed here recommended renting the property, and we had an excellent stay. To return to the house after a long, hot day of never-ending touristic tours were enjoyable moments, at last breathable air and tranquility. At night a blanket on the bed was still necessary . I love this contrast! I was also impressed by the condition of the house itself: despite being oldish, everything was clean and cared for. We were a group of friends and we were all content with our stay. The children of our friends played continually in the grounds, having a really good time. Closeby, we were able to see wild boar and much bird-life. We hired a car and ended up hardly using it as the station is nearby, where the metro sevice is frequent and in a short time you are in the Ramblas. The owner was civilized and gave us good advice. We will return and moreover, recomend it to our friends

Luxurious is not the adjective I would use to describe this property.

Upon arrival 64 steps to climb to get to the front door.Told there were lots of mosquitoes and as the house had no mosquito nets no EC and no fans this was to prove a problem.The first four night we cooked in the house with windows and doors closed .Evetually on the fourth day badly fitted nets were put on two windows. My friends room had french doors only leading on to a balcony.so she spent every night cooking!!! The kitchen needed to be cleaned the microwave was dirty,the main oven was ugh, the Dishwasher didn't work(filter blocked by plastic wheel and two large pieces of broken glass)All glass ware crockery and cutlery had to be washed.NO inventory,NO information folder, NO information on appliances,NO fire extinguisher,fire blanket. The garden was very overgrown.unkempt dangerous.Poor outdoor facilities.The house was in a poor state as were the facilities and in some areas even dangerous.

Dear Linda, Jean and Buoreville I would like to apologize for the inconveniences you have had during your stay at my house. I will try to clear up some of them, which I think are due to a misunderstanding. Firstly, unfortunately, this year in May there was a heat-wave out of season, and like many people, I was not prepared for this; this meant that the mosquitos came earlier than usual. I am very sorry, I tried to put up the mosquito net and I phoned you several times and you said that everything was OK. So you didn´t give me the chance to solve the problem. I always try to leave the house as clean as possible, so the issues that you mentioned surprise me. I have taken steps with the cleaning staff to assure that this doesn’t happen again. Secondly, concerning the steps, I can confirm that in Holiday Lettings’ amenities of the house it states very clearly that the house is not suitable for people with reduced mobility. Furthermore, in the photos you can see that the house is on a hill. Also if you read the other reviews, many of them mention this fact. Thirdly, my house has a tourist license. The number can be found on the web page. Next, each bedroom has two electricity sockets. If you needed adaptors you could have asked me for them. The five tip-advisers refer to and measure the price and quality; they are not stars which measure the level of luxury. I have never claimed the house was a five-star luxury house, however I do the best I can and have had some terrific reviews from many people Finally, for your two weeks’ stay you paid €2,000 euros, not 2,000 pounds. There is a 600 euro difference. I give the same answer for the 3 reviews because you come together and you feel the same Sorry again I hope one day I can do something to compensate your inconvenience best regards Beatrizchice@gmail.com

A very big disappointment

When we arrived were met with a hike of 64 stairs up to the villa. This was not in the villa description. My wife suffers from an arthritic condition in her back and hips found the stairs extremely difficult, on several days we stayed in rather than face the stairs. We found some of the glasses with wine stains and the cutlery and crockery not the very clean. Hoover the bag full and filter blocked . No spare bags. The steam iron supplied leaked water everywhere. Two of the bedrooms had no mosquito screens. Four days later they were fitted. They were poorly made. One had a gap of 2.5 cms at the top and the top of the other bowed down by10 cms in the middle. Cristina was aware of this.With the use of kitchen towel and a home made prop we managed to seal them. None of the sinks had plugs. The family bathroom sink had a 6cms crack. No smoke alarms, fire extinguisher. Gardens overgrown and unuseable. LUXURIOUS??. Definitely not. .
