Stayed in B18- one of the few very private sites in this first come first serve area of Peter Lougheed Provincial Park. No power or water at sites, water is available at dump station. Park in middle for younger kids or for games like bocci ball. Short walk to dam and lake but it is steep uphill. Showers are a drive to elkwood (currently closed) or Bolton campsites. Store at Bolton is great and ice cream shop has many excellent flavours and worth the drive. No internet/cell service which is excellent to truly unwind and disconnect. Would definitely recommend staying at this site. Area B is more open sites if looking for more group camping type with younger kids, area A and C are more secluded and private sites, but C is definitely closer to bike trails. Beautiful area to camp.

Check in staff was nice but they obviously don't know camping. They have popups on tent sites and tenters on nice level sites. Our site was very slanted and no room for anything. We asked to be assigned another spot but we're shown a worse site. The people in a pop up were given a site that they could not fit on and we're told to park in the road. Showers close at 8 so u have to plan accordingly. Laundry cost was more then a private facility.

We have been there for the last few days. There are bear advisories everywhere so, you are not allowed to walk on any of the trails. They are continuously on the lookout and doing their best to keep the animals and people safe. Only go into campsites 43 and 44 if you want to be very, very close to your neighbours. The supplied fire-pits are just a few steps away from each other. There is no separations at all. You might as well be in the same campsite. If you are travelling with a big group and need two sites combined that is the only way these sites work. You can hear everything the other people say and do. There is advertised that there is a strict quiet time. Within the next 3 sites there were 2 very loud generators that were going on long past the time. There was a guy walking around in the trees just around the area that was shooting a BB gun in a provincial campground. I am not an expert but, you would think that would be an issue but, severak times the park enployees truck went past and they did not say anything so, we had to keep an eye out for the guy shooting the BB gun around out site. Then we get to the out houses. You can smell them from the road...wow. There was the same toilet paper on the floor for a day and a half. You would think a Provincial Park would want to keep things clean. They do monitor the sites when you are away from your site to make sure you are not leaving food out to try to maintain the bear issues. I was impressed with this. No internet service.

My wife and I walked past the closed gate into the campground to access the Canyon Creek walking trail the begins at the north end of the campground. This has been our campground of choice for a trip to Kananaskis country, but it wasn't open for the season yet. It must be opening shortly, because the campground host had his rig in his spot, complete with hanging baskets of flowers! He evidently has the gate key.....
It's a pretty campground with gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains. Many of the sites are sunny and open, perfect for early season trips when you appreciate the sunshine (we saw snowflakes 4 days in a row the second week of June). There are also nicely shaded sites for later in the summer. From the amount of elk droppings in evidence in the campground, they like this location as well! The campground has about 50 sites, water available, vault toilets, firewood available for purchase from the host, a small playground, and a dump station nearby.

Great place to work , and a great place to camp, relax, fish, and a great place to bring the family to enjoy the fresh air. See wildlife, birds and flowers. The mountain views are spectacular. Reserve your site in Boulton, but also first come first serve campgrounds for the spere of the minute campers.
