Ready, set, go! ACC's 4th anniversary celebrations continued yesterday in our Paris office, with activities organised throughout the day around the theme "Be sporting"! Sport was the perfect theme for our Paris office, and not just because there's a major sporting event coming up in Paris. It's also a tribute to our agility, our ability to bounce back from challenges and our team spirit: #TogetherForward! And what an incredible day of team building, laughter and friendly competition! We started with a hearty breakfast to fuel up for the day's challenges. Our "Office Olympics" had us all in stitches - from wacky chairs races to paper ball throwing contests and photo competition.  Lunch was a delicious journey across 5 continents, giving us the energy boost we needed for the afternoon's activities. We even managed to squeeze in some 'chair sports' - proving that you don't have to stand to be active! At the end of the day, we relaxed over a beautiful cake, celebrating our achievements and sharing our favourite moments. Four years of ACC and the team spirit is stronger than ever. ACC is a project with strong European roots, and this translates into the 2023 #CorporateSocialResponsibility report that we released recently. Discover now the fourth pillar of our approach: "Contributing to the European industrial and academic battery ecosystem". We strongly believe that the production of batteries and its value-chain can be relocated in Europe. That’s the reason why we aim at exploiting already existing European industrial sites, and build our #Gigafactories on combustion engine sites that are due to close. At the meantime, growing partnerships with suppliers capable of designing and producing the components and equipment needed to manufacture and recycle batteries accelerates the relocation of the whole supply chain on the continent. Encouraging European sovereignty also involves strengthening the knowledge through research, and sharing progress with the scientific community. We are contributing to the development of training programmes, with the aim of promoting employability and attracting talented people in the areas where we operate. Celebrating our 4th anniversary at Nersac! Our team at Nersac embarked on a journey through automotive history with a vintage car exhibition featuring the unconventional Rosengart Supertraction, the timeless Jaguar E-Type, the elegant Ferrari 812 GTS and many more. A tribute to the pioneering spirit of the automotive industry! Our CEO, Yann Vincent, joined the festivities and everyone gathered around an exquisite and fruity number cake. While the number of employees has grown considerably over the past four years, we are committed to ensuring that every new ACC member is properly welcomed, integrated and trained to develop the skills that are key to the battery industry. Following the release of our 2023 #CorporateSocialResponsibility report, let’s now dive into the second pillar of our approach, Responsible Sourcing and Manufacturing. Because ACC was created to contribute to the energy transition and the development of a responsible European battery industry, it is crucial to apply the highest standards in terms of ethics, workers' rights and environmental protection to our activities. We are doing this at the level of our plants, with the implementation of an environmental management system and the search for ways to reduce our consumption and impact. We also take action in our purchasing and relations with our suppliers. Did you know that 70% of the social and environmental impact of international companies comes from their supply chain? That's why our teams are working to set up and guarantee a responsible and sustainable supply chain. Did you know that transport is the main cause of greenhouse gas emissions in France and Europe? Only 100% electric engines can fully meet the zero emissions in use objective. However, around 50% of an electric vehicle's carbon footprint comes from manufacturing its battery. That’s where we come in! By working on both design and production, we aim at reducing our carbon footprint through innovation and optimisation. This pillar is Eco-design and Innovation: working to constantly improve the design and manufacturing process of our products is key to make them both more technically efficient and more respectful of our environment. But beyond design, it’s the whole life cycle of our cells that we need to take into account. How much do you know about sign language? To be honest, most of us didn’t know much either… That was until we had the pleasure of welcoming Julien DOS SANTOS, from ÉGALITE POUR TOUS, for a Sign Language Coffee. Julien introduced us to the art of sign communication, exploring both the origins of sign language and the difficulties faced by people with a hearing impairment. “A moment of introduction and discovery, marked by great humanity!”: all participants were unanimous, and greatly appreciated this moment of sharing and learning.
