#APAC is a core region for BlueFloat Energy, and we have been working in New Zealand with Elemental Group Limited since 2021. We strongly believe that offshore wind will play a critical role in reaching #Aotearoa´s 2050 net-zero targets. With enabling regulations for offshore wind in New Zealand due later this year, it’s a critical time for us to engage with public and private sector stakeholders to share BlueFloat Energy's global experience and expertise to set up the New Zealand offshore wind industry for success. Our Chief Commercial Officer and EVP APAC, Pierre-Antoine Tetard, recently visited Auckland, Wellington, and Taranaki to share global insights and learn more about local priorities, reinforcing our commitment to the industry’s establishment in Aoteroa. Thank you to everyone who shared their time and knowledge. Highlights of the visit include: 🚗 A scenic road trip from Whanganui to Ngāmotu New Plymouth, where Pierre-Antoine and Nathan Turner explored potential O&M bases and discussed offshore wind opportunities. 🤝 Strategic meetings with key stakeholders, including discussions with the Port Taranaki team about the pivotal role the port will play in the offshore wind industry. 🥧 Experiencing local culture and hospitality, including a taste of New Zealand’s famous bacon and egg pie. 🌊 Visits to potential offshore wind farm locations, taking in the breathtaking views and assessing the wind potential. 🗣️ Engaging with local communities and energy users, understanding their needs and how offshore wind can support regional development. We’ve built a strong #localteam on the ground, and it was great to spend time together in person. Pierre-Antoine left with a wealth of knowledge, insights, and a stash of mānuka honey to take home with him! This visit solidifies our commitment to supporting New Zealand’s transition to renewable energy and highlights the importance of collaboration in driving the offshore wind industry forward. 🌱 #OffshoreWind #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #BlueFloatEnergy #NewZealand #WindPower #NetZero2050

👨🏼🏫 BlueFloat Energy participated in yesterday’s Union for the Mediterranean webinar on ‘Fostering the Sustainable Development of Marine Renewable Energy through Effective Licensing and Maritime Spatial Planning.’ Our Stakeholder Engagement Manager, Christian Keller Estalrich, shared insights on the crucial role our social license model plays in developing floating offshore wind projects in the Mediterranean.      Christian highlighted, 💬 "the vast majority of the Mediterranean's wind resource is located in waters deeper than 60m. This is why floating offshore wind development is key to unlocking the region's renewable energy capabilities and advancing its decarbonization efforts." He further emphasized BlueFloat Energy’s commitment to social integration, transparency, and local presence—essential pillars for the success of floating offshore wind projects. 🤝   Key points from Christian’s presentation included:    🔹 Mediterranean Potential: offshore wind could boost energy production up to 12 GW by 2030 and 40 GW by 2050 in EU Mediterranean countries.    🔹 Regulatory Landscape: effective maritime spatial planning and overcoming regulatory challenges are paramount to unlock the floating offshore wind capacity in the Mediterranean.    🔹 Social Integration: genuine stakeholder engagement is not only best practice but also the most efficient way of developing mutually beneficial projects.    The webinar, jointly organized by the Union for the Mediterranean and #MedOCEaN, offered diverse perspectives into regulatory frameworks, challenges, and best practices for advancing marine renewable energy in the region. MedOCEaN is the Offshore Coalition for Energy and Nature in the Mediterranean Sea—a pioneering alliance between NGOs, transmission system operators (TSOs), and representatives of the wind industry across the Mediterranean basin and adjacent Atlantic waters to advance the responsible deployment of offshore wind energy while safeguarding the Mediterranean Sea's precious natural resources. BlueFloat Energy is proud to have been the first offshore wind developer joining the MedOCEaN coalition.   https://lnkd.in/dtrbHecM Renewables Grid Initiative #OffshoreWind #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #EnergyTransition
