📢 Announcement: Farewell to Our Chief Scientific Officer, Daniela Bezdan 🚀 We are writing to inform you that our distinguished Chief Scientific Officer, Daniela Bezdan, decided to leave Yuri to explore new and exciting opportunities in her career. Daniela has been an integral part of the Yuri family, contributing to our scientific advancements and innovations. In the past years, Daniela has built one of the most advanced laboratories for Yuri and established the new Yurinaut Scientific Team at the pristine EMBL/CRG outstation in Barcelona. Her team has worked on synthetic biology, studying hundreds of space bacteria 🦠, and pursuing promising leads for new products and molecules, particularly in drug discovery 💊. Yuri enabled her to also develop a faster-growing organoid model protocol in microgravity for high-throughput drug screening in collaboration with the University of Tuebingen. Moreover, Daniela worked on astronaut health data to identify early onset targets for diseases 🧬. One of our most significant achievements was identifying a target for Triple-Negative Breast Cancer that, when knocked out, killed up to 90% of the cancer cells without affecting other cell lines 🎯. While Daniela is looking forward to her next exciting chapter, we are pleased to share that her journey with Yuri is far from over. Once a Yurinaut, always a Yurinaut! We will continue to collaborate on groundbreaking projects, and we are confident that she will never be far from our shared mission and vision 🌟.
