I did something I feel a little bit weird about today. I set up my Passionfroot storefront. 😅 I'm officially trying to monetize my work on social media, and I feel... uncomfortable about it. Which is, upon closer inspection, a little silly. So much of my work at Buffer involves empowering creators to leverage the power of social media — to do good while doing well. And I've worked so hard to put out helpful, valuable content over here and on Instagram. It took *years* to build a (nano) following on IG — and I'm really proud of it. (It's tough out there on Instagram, friends.) I have a toddler. A full-time job. And I host the The Anonymous Marketer Podcast (with help from the wonderful folks at Motion), so my free time is close to nil. I LOVE creating content, but it's tough to justify the lack of sleep and downtime that comes with cultivating a following on multiple platforms. I've worked with brands on IG before, though mostly in a product exchange capacity. Which is fun, but also not always worth the hours that go into creating content... This is why, when the excellent Anna Burgess Yang encouraged me to set up my own storefront, my gut reaction was: "It is time." [in Rafiki's voice, of course]. So, here it is. The storefront is open. 🔔 I've linked to it below. 😄 And yes, I'm very aware that my following isn't huge. That's the beauty of social media — the small folks can have an impact, too. So please be kind. 😊 P.S. I'm lucky to work for a company like Buffer that encourages teammates to have side projects (some folks have gone on to 'graduate' from the company to start their own highly successful ventures!).
