Our COMPASS Youth Collaborative staff is always striving to deepen their knowledge and develop new skill that will help our youth succeed.

Last week they took part in Social Emotional Learning (SEL) training. SEL is the process through which youth build awareness and skills in managing emotions, setting goals, establishing relation-ships and making responsible decisions.

Developing these skills help youth navigate obstacles that prevent them from reaching their goals. By addressing non-academic barriers to learning we build resiliency in our youth. Resiliency that helps them succeed in education, employment and life.
