As we continue to recognise International Women in Engineering Day, we celebrate this problem solver whose contributions keep us safe daily. Ishwarya Singaravelu studied electrical and electronics engineering, a field dedicated to designing, developing, and innovating electrical systems and devices that power our modern world. From the electricity that lights up our homes to the intricate circuitry in our smartphones, electrical engineers play a pivotal role in shaping our daily lives. In her role at Advanced, a Halma company that designs and manufactures fire safety systems that protect lives and properties around the globe, Ishwarya is involved in designing, testing, and troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems. Ishwarya appreciates the importance of work-life balance and likes to spend time cooking, hiking, reading, and listening to music. Her purpose is to positively impact at least one person's life every day and she loves to have a meaningful conversation with anyone in any room anywhere in the world. Ishwarya enjoys the wide range of career opportunities, and the flexibility engineering offers and wants to encourage young women to believe in themselves and to challenge stereotypes. She said, “Engineering is a fascinating field that gives a lot of scope for women to put their creative skills to use and create technologies and products that impact the world. As we keep celebrating International Women in Engineering Day, we want to honour the accomplishments of our colleagues and motivate future innovators to join us. These young engineers from China inspire us for sure. Jessie Zhao has a deep connection to environmental issues which started long before her professional career and was nurtured during her studies in Environmental Science and Engineering in which she has bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She started her career seven years ago at Nuvonic, a Halma company offering UV-based solutions for water, surface, and air disinfection, where she works today as an Applications Engineer. She’s often out in the field providing technical support, where conditions are tough and demanding, but this is where her resilience and pragmatic approach come into their own. "It helps me cope better, not only at work but in my life too. For instance, if you can perform your work well in a tough setting like a sewage plant, you can also handle some difficulties when they occur in life," she says. Eva Liu studied Control Science and Engineering which involves designing systems that manage and regulate dynamic processes, contributing to everyday life by optimising the performance and safety of various technologies, from industrial automation to transportation. This led her to start her career in the industrial automation industry and six years ago, Eva joined Alicat Scientific, a Halma company that designs and manufactures flow and pressure devices used in medical and scientific instrumentation. Eva has seen this young team grow from three to four people to dozens of people today and she’s had opportunities to grow and learn with them. Eva goes the extra mile helping customers with technical issues and understanding their needs, and enjoys interacting with people in different markets and sectors, and getting involved in the R&D process. #INWED2024 #EnhancedByEngineering #WomenInHalma #WomenInSTEM

We are pleased to announce the acquisition of Global Fire Equipment (GFE), a leading manufacturer of fire detection and alarm systems, for our Safety sector company Ampac Australia. Based in Faro, Portugal, GFE designs and manufactures high-quality solutions to save lives and prevent catastrophic damage caused by fire. Its technologies are complementary to Ampac’s fire safety systems portfolio and will further expand the geographical markets it serves. The acquisition is part of Halma’s growth strategy to acquire businesses aligned with its purpose of growing a safer, cleaner, healthier future for everyone, every day. #SaferCleanerHealthier

As we continue to celebrate International Women in Engineering Day, we’re profiling this rising engineering star. Inspired by the possibility of improving healthcare outcomes for individuals worldwide, Kathryn Lakatos pursued Biomedical Engineering, combining engineering and biology principles to develop solutions that directly impact patient care. Her connections led to an internship and a career at Volk Optical Inc., a Halma company with a mission of eradicating preventable blindness through accessible imaging of the eye. In 2023 Kathryn helped to launch a new surgical lens used by vitreoretinal surgeons, the company’s first new lens in five years, and she also supported the software development of Volk’s VistaView™ which enables those who live far from healthcare facilities to have their eyesight tested, particularly those in remote communities that may otherwise be underserved. #INWED2024 #EnhancedByEngineering #WomenInHalma #WomenInSTEM

We’ve just announced our Full Year Results for 2023/24, and it was another record year of revenue and profit. Here’s a few key takeaways: ✅ Record revenue, above £2bn for the first time ✅ Adjusted EBIT above £400m for the first time, up 12% ✅ A 45th consecutive year of dividend growth of 5% or more ✅ 5.3% invested in R&D, helping our companies grow ✅ Eight acquisitions completed Marc Ronchetti, Group Chief Executive, said, “2024 was another successful year for Halma. We delivered record revenue and profit, with continued high returns. Strong cash generation enabled us to make substantial investments in opportunities for future growth, while maintaining a strong balance sheet.
