    OEM Product & Business Development

Labsphere, Inc. and International Light Technologies | A Division of Labsphere officially merged on April 1st and I am excited to be leading the OEM Product and Business Development efforts. In addition to our portfolio of light measurement and light creation products, and our diffuse reflectance materials, together, Labsphere and ILT, have the capabilities to provide light sources (traditional and LED) that span the entire spectrum of light from ultraviolet to infrared for a variety of analytical instruments. As it becomes more and more difficult for manufacturers of analytical equipment to find quality light sources, we are uniquely positioned to: *Act as a supplier of traditional lamps and LEDs to ensure the delivered products are of the highest quality and meet yield and performance expectations *Act as a design partner to assist with the rollout of complex LED replacement sources for next generation products *Act as an OEM manufacturing partner to assist with the manufacturing of optical and electro-optical components

Labsphere, Inc. is heading to CALCON in Logan, Utah next week to take part in another technical meeting discussing characterization and radiometric calibration for remote sensing imagers. Space Dynamics Lab will be showcasing their latest calibration source delivered by Labsphere, and we will be there to answer any questions on its capabilities, design, and traceable calibration. We expect another great turnout where we will be discussing our calibration offerings that cover the complete calibration life cycle: pre-launch calibration systems, active and passive on-board calibration, vicarious calibration, and design services for assistance in defining system performance, uncertainty budgets, and calibration/validation programs.   Learn More: https://lnkd.in/ex-RJPAT https://lnkd.in/e4wNKm86 https://lnkd.in/eZ2KwKUa https://lnkd.in/e5p5mZxM https://lnkd.in/eYQkZHpG #SatelliteCalibration #Labsphere

As our last post describing the CALIBRATION LIFE CYCLE prior to the 4S Symposium on Small Satellite Systems and Service https://lnkd.in/eDEBVMJe next week in Mallorca Spain, we discuss the next phase: Vicarious Calibration. Ever wonder how satellite data reflects ground truth? Vicarious calibration is a key element and Labsphere’s FLARE network takes it to the next level by creating point sources of radiation on the ground. FLARE (Field, Line-of-sight Automated Radiance Exposure) comprises ground-based mirror array systems in worldwide locations, providing crucial reference measurements for validating and calibrating satellite radiometric and geometric observations. This system allows automated “looks” at the calibrated mirrors which track the satellite and provide a known incident spectral radiance at the satellite imager during scheduled flyovers. This method allows for absolute radiometric calibration, point spread function(PSF) analysis, georeferencing, and BRDF analysis of the local region. This collaboration ensures your satellite data is not just accurate, but also reliably calibrated to real-world conditions and any changing response of the on-board instruments. Be sure to stop by at #4SSymposium2024 to discuss your application in detail at Stand 12 with Labsphere, Inc. #VicariousCalibration #SatelliteData #GroundTruth #FLARENetwork

As we approach the opening of the 4S Symposium on Small Satellite Systems and Service https://lnkd.in/eDEBVMJe in Mallorca Spain next week, we’re discussing the next phase of the CALIBRATION LIFE CYCLE: On-Orbit Calibration. Once in orbit, satellites fine-tune their accuracy through on-board calibration techniques. While cross-calibration and validation of ground sites with other satellites is often used, mismatch due to non-simultaneous flyover, different viewing angles, and changing atmospheric conditions can lead to errors that require corrections and assumptions. Active radiation sources and Spectralon® solar diffusers are instrumental in an on-board calibration process, allowing dynamic adjustments to sensor performance and absolute radiometric calibration. These advanced tools ensure your satellite maintains optimal functionality, and traceability delivering reliable data for Earth observation and research.
