Yesterday, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and One Works Foundation met with Oleksandr Syenkevych, Mayor of Mykolaiv to discuss the Concept Masterplan for #Mykolaiv. The meeting focused on key strategies for sustainable urban development, including the preservation of green spaces🌳, economic revitalization 💼, and post-conflict reconstruction 🛠️. Valuable feedback was gathered from local officials and stakeholders to refine the masterplan and ensure it aligns with the city's unique character and long-term vision. This collaborative effort underscores the importance of integrating community input into urban planning processes to create resilient and thriving cities. The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe team, in collaboration with the One Works Foundation, is in Mykolaiv today, presenting the Concept Masterplan for sustainable urban development. Yesterday at the “#VNR Lab: Advancing Integrated #SDG Planning and Implementation”, part of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (#HLPF) in New York, Mareike Eberz, Economic Affairs Officer at ECLAC, emphasized the crucial role of the UN Regional Commissions in achieving the #2030Agenda for #SustainableDevelopment at the local level.   The United Nations Regional Economic Commissions are dedicated to empowering local governments in their SDG efforts.
