Bio-HAP: Scaling up Bio-based Production of High-Purity Acetic Acid We are thrilled to announce that Biosimo Chemicals and ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences have been granted funding by Innosuisse for our latest innovation project, "BIO-HAP: Scaling up Bio-based Production of High-Purity Acetic Acid." Since 2022, Biosimo AG and the group of Daniel M. Meier at ZHAW, have collaborated to validate and test the purification of bio-based glacial acetic acid from Biosimo’s innovation process. Starting June 2024, the team will take the next scale optimizing the purification and producing larger quantities of bio-based acetic acid for customer validation. It is a crucial step forward towards commercializing large-scale bio-based acetic acid production and de-fossilization of the chemical industry.
