Decarbonizing global supply chains
Info
Welcome to BCHAR on LinkedIn! We're tackling the big issues of agricultural waste and climate change by turning waste into biochar with our Biochar Carbon Removal Factories. Starting with a successful project in Thailand, we’ve developed a system that fits right into large food and beverage operations, making it easier to decarbonize value chains and improve soil health.

We just came back from London Climate Action Week! It was incredibly inspiring learning about the many ways different people and their organisations take #ClimateAction. 💡 Thank you, AtkinsRéalis, for inviting us to your panel about decarbonising supply chains through innovation. Learning about the differences between innovation in corporations vs. start-ups was informative and intriguing. 📢 Special thanks to Serena W. for organising this event and to Richard Gutsell for an engaging discussion. Fuelled by a week of thought-provoking conversations, we arrived back in Zurich a few days ago, energised and ready to continue our work towards a sustainable future. 🌍 Let's decarbonise supply chains together and make positive changes for our planet! #LCAW24 #BCHAR

NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration recently published a visualisation showing the CO2 that entered the Earth’s atmosphere in 2021, split into four key contributors displayed as smoke-like streams: 🟠Fossil fuels 🔴Burning biomass 🟢Land ecosystems 🔵Ocean The flashing dots represent the planet’s carbon sinks, i.e., the land ecosystem (green) and the ocean (blue), which naturally absorb some of the carbon. 🌿 #BCHAR's solutions are decarbonising supply chains to support the sinks in managing the carbon out there. 💡 Emissions are concentrated in the Global North where most of our population lives. Notice the differences over the course of the year? #ClimateChange #biochar #CarbonRemoval

It's #ShowYourStripes day! The stripes below display above-average (red tones 🔴) and below-average (blue tones 🔵) temperatures in Switzerland based on data provided by the Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology MeteoSwiss. Not surprisingly, there have been many red stripes in recent years, not just here but also in various other regions. 🔥 Several European countries, including Spain, Turkey, Greece and Cyprus, have been facing heatwaves over the last few weeks. ❗ The need to tackle #ClimateChange is ever so urgent. Let's get to work and scale #BCR together.

Are the Paris Olympics 2024 endangered? The summer Olympics and Paralympics in Paris are just a few weeks away. European countries such as Turkey, Greece and Cyprus already face temperatures above 40 degrees. While no weather forecast for the Olympic period is available yet, METEO FRANCE expects the Parisian summer to show above-average temperatures. 💡 This heat is intensified by the urban heat island effect, in which urban areas with more concrete constructions absorb more heat than rural areas, increasing cities' temperatures. 🏊🏾♀️ Extreme temperatures disrupt athletes' recovery, sleep and appetite and challenge the Olympic organising committee to take precautionary action. Although Paris is a "green" city with plenty of parcs, streets with trees, with initiatives to expand the green zones.... This summer will once again prove how #ClimateChange has a wide-ranging impact on various aspects of society and our everyday lives. It makes us aware of our work's urgency and climate action as a whole. 🌵 Collaborate with #BCHAR so that we can quickly scale our production facilities to produce #biochar and remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere / #CDR! Contact any of us, we're here for you - and the planet 😉
