Tomorrow at 3:00 pm French Guiana time (8:00 pm CET), all APCO Technologies SA will look up to the sky to follow the Maiden Flight of Ariane 6: http://esawebtv.esa.int/ Since the Ariane 6 Industry Day organized at Le Bourget in 2015, the development of the Ariane 6 launcher has been an incredible accelerator for APCO Technologies SA with: - The construction and exploitation of an "industry 4.0" factory for the series production of the Booster Attachment Subsystems, - The development and delivery of 96 MGSE to ArianeGroup, CNES and Beyond Gravity for the launcher's production, assembly, integration and transport, in Europe and French Guiana, - The extension of our on-site activities at the European Space Port by becoming responsible for the maintenance and operation of our MGSE until the completion of the Ariane 6 inaugural flight campaign. All APCO Technologies SA staff can be proud of this exceptional achievement. Thank you to the Swiss Secrétariat d’Etat à la formation, à la recherche et à l’innovation SEFRI for their support, and to our customers European Space Agency - ESA, ArianeGroup, CNES and Beyond Gravity for their trust all along the Ariane 6 programme. What an adventure and a major breakthrough Sentinel-2C has been for APCO Technologies SA. In addition to the full satellite MGSE set that is visible on the Airbus Defence and Space images, APCO Technologies SA was also responsible for the development and delivery of the Multi-Spectral Imager (MSI) Structure and MLI of the Sentinel-2 satellites. This is the first CFRP Structure entirely manufactured at APCO Technologies SA in Aigle. APCO Technologies SA was also responsible for the development and delivery of the Long-Term Storage Tents that are used by Airbus Defence and Space to keep the satellites in operational condition, waiting for their launch campaign. Thank you to Airbus Defence and Space for its trust throughout these years with these various exciting projects. And congratualations to all the teammates at APCO Technologies SA who made these projects a huge success for the company. All the best to Sentinel-2C !
Airbus Defence and Space built, Copernicus Sentinel-2C climate satellite 🛰️ heading for launch 🚀 site - After road transport 🚛 from Airbus in Friedrichshafen to Bremen, the Airbus-built Sentinel-2C satellite, the third European Space Agency - ESA Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellite, is about to be shipped to the 🇪🇺 European spaceport in French Guiana. The container has been loaded today onto the iconic Canopée, the first sail-assisted cargo ship ⛵️ designed specifically to transport Ariane 6 rocket components from European ports to the 🇫🇷 Guiana Space Centre in Kourou, where it will arrive in approximately two weeks. "About half of the data used to assess and monitor the impact of climate change on Earth is actually delivered by satellites," said Marc Steckling, Head of Earth Observation, Science and Exploration at Airbus. "The Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellites have provided valuable climate information to scientists since 2015 and Sentinel-2C will ensure continuity. Additionally, they have also made monitoring marine litter from space a reality, a significant achievement considering how critical this issue has become." More info here 👉🏻 https://lnkd.in/dUji-j8y

With its double-deck sandwich concept using 3 carbon fiber skins and 2 aluminium honeycombs, the Stable Structure Assembly (SSA) supporting the Atmospheric Lidar (ATLID) of EarthCARE is probably the most crazy Optical Bench developed and produced by APCO Technologies SA. Good luck to the EarthCARE spacecraft, and thank you to European Space Agency - ESA and to our friends from Airbus Defence and Space in Toulouse for their trust and support all along this hard ATLID SSA challenge. Looking back to it, the ATLID SSA project has been one of the most important pillars that forged the current APCO Technologies SA.
